How to Visit
1

Start with the core halls before drifting toward photo spots

The historical sequence makes more sense if you move through the main memorial and temple spaces before the more famous photo zones.

History first, photos second
2

Build in time for the red wall bamboo corridor

This is the most popular photo area and is best with softer light and fewer crowds.

One of Chengdu’s signature photo spots
3

Use a guide or audio explanation if the Three Kingdoms story matters to you

The site is much more rewarding if you understand the figures and political relationships represented inside.

Interpretation changes the value of the visit
4

Link it with Jinli for a practical half-day route

The connection is easy and makes the area more rounded for first-time visitors.

This is the standard pairing
Highlights
  • The most important Three Kingdoms site in Chengdu
  • The red wall bamboo corridor for iconic Chengdu photos
  • Memorial halls tied to Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang
  • A manageable cultural stop with direct metro access
  • A natural pairing with Jinli for food and atmosphere afterward
Insider Tips

The red wall corridor is easiest to photograph outside the busiest midday window.

Go at opening or after 16:00 if you care about lighter photo traffic.

Do not rush past the stele and corridor areas; they carry much of the site’s texture.

If you are not already interested in the Three Kingdoms period, use a short guide to avoid a flat visit.

Jinli next door is convenient, but the shrine is the stronger cultural stop.
