Nanxun Ancient Town

Treat it as a day trip with a fixed arrival plan

High-speed rail plus a short taxi is usually the cleanest route from Hangzhou, especially if you want to preserve energy for the old-town walk.

Use the south-gate-in, north-side-finish route

This gives the cleanest sequence through the major mansions and then into the residential waterside zone around Baijianlou.

Decide whether the paid mansions matter to you

If you want the strongest architectural value, the paid historic residences are worth it. If you only want water-town atmosphere, the free streets already cover a lot.

Keep sunset for Baijianlou if possible

The north-side residential water lanes become much stronger late in the day and into the first night lights.
