Use it as a free city park walk
Nanhu Park is free to enter, and the lake area is large. The full loop is over 8 km, so first-time visitors should choose one comfortable lakeside section instead of walking everything.
Tip:A short lakeside route is usually more enjoyable than forcing the full loop.

Take the metro nearby and walk in
Use Nanhu Station on Line 1 or Binhulu Station on Line 3, then walk toward the lake. Weekend parking can be tight, so driving is not the smoothest choice.
Tip:The metro is easier for a relaxed city walk, especially on weekends.

Come in the late afternoon
After 16:30, the heat drops, and the lake, Nine-Arch Bridge, and city lights are more enjoyable. Midday is exposed and can make the walk feel longer than it is.
Tip:This timing works especially well if you want both sunset and evening lights.

Time it carefully if you want the water-screen movie
The water-screen movie is free, with the main regular slot on Friday from 20:30 to 21:00 near March Third Joyful Song Square on the Famous Trees Expo Garden side. Holiday events may have different arrangements.
Tip:Do not build the whole evening around the show unless the timing matches your date.

Keep the route simple
Famous Trees Expo Garden, Nine-Arch Bridge, the lakeside path, and Nanhu Bridge cover the main experience. There is no need to chase every corner of the park.
Tip:Nanhu is best used as a slower break between denser city stops.
