How to Visit
1

Enter from the South Gate for the easiest first visit

The south side gives the most straightforward route to the kite lawn and summit plaza, which makes it the best choice if you are short on time or coming for the first time.

This route works especially well for sunset visits
2

Pause at Kite Square before climbing

Kite Square is one of Shenzhen's classic urban lawns. On weekends it becomes a full family scene with kites, picnics, and skyline backdrops that already make the park worth the detour.

It is also the easiest low-effort stop if you do not want a full hill walk
3

Climb to the summit plaza and Deng Xiaoping statue

The summit is only around 100 meters above sea level, but the view opens directly over Futian CBD. Ping An Finance Center, Civic Center, and the main city axis all read clearly from up here.

Arrive before sunset if you want both daylight and evening views
4

Add Rainforest Valley or Yangri Lake if you want a slower route

If you have more time, take the quieter loop through Rainforest Valley and Yangri Lake. This gives the visit more ecological depth and breaks up the skyline-focused main route.

This extended loop suits weekday afternoons best
Highlights
  • Summit plaza with one of Shenzhen's simplest CBD panoramas
  • Kite Square, a huge lawn that shows everyday local life better than most landmark stops
  • Rainforest Valley boardwalk lined with tropical greenery
  • Yangri Lake, especially attractive when cotton-tree blooms color the shore
  • An easy, low-stress hill that still feels rewarding for first-time visitors
Insider Tips

Use the metro rather than driving unless you are arriving very early

If you are bringing older relatives or kids, the sightseeing buggy is worth considering

Late afternoon is the best balance of cooler air and softer light

Check the current Civic Center light-show schedule separately instead of assuming it is running

If you want the quietest version of the park, go on a weekday and add the lake-and-boardwalk loop
