Jia Yi's Former Residence has been closed since May 6, 2025 for cultural tourism construction and exhibition upgrades, with reopening pending later notice.
Tip:Do not make indoor entry a fixed part of your current itinerary, or you may arrive at Taiping Old Street and find it closed.

Use it as a pass-by stop on Taiping Old Street
The residence is at No. 28 Taiping Street and has a convenient location, but it is not worth a separate trip while closed.
Tip:When walking Taiping Old Street, check the exterior and nearby area if you pass by. If it is still closed, continue with Taiping Old Street, Pozi Street, or Wuyi Square.

Use alternative cultural stops if you want Jia Yi context
During the closure, if you are interested in Jia Yi and Western Han Changsha, focus instead on related displays at Changsha Bamboo Slips Museum and an old-city route around Tianxin Pavilion and Taiping Old Street.
Tip:That is more practical than waiting around the closed residence.

After reopening, treat it as a small historic residence
Jia Yi's Former Residence is not large. When it reopens, focus on Jia Taifu Shrine, Jia Yi Well, the stele corridor, and the courtyard.
Tip:It works best as a cultural add-on inside Taiping Old Street, not a half-day attraction.
