How to Visit
1

Set aside separate time for Wuhou Tomb

Wuhou Tomb is the actual burial site of Zhuge Liang, and it is not in the same place as Wuhou Shrine.

Tip:It sits near the foot of Dingjun Mountain, so plan it with Dingjun Mountain rather than treating it as a quick stop beside Zhuge Ancient Town.
2

Follow the tomb garden's main axis

After entering, follow the main path through the main hall, worship hall, tomb mound, and rear shrine spaces.

Tip:The garden is not large, but the atmosphere is quiet, so it is better to move slowly than rush through.
3

Focus on the tomb mound and ancient cypresses

The most meaningful parts are the tomb mound, the space in front of it, the ancient cypresses, and the shrine buildings.

Tip:Compared with the lively town area, this feels much more like a commemorative historical tomb garden.
4

Combine it with Dingjun Mountain for a half-day route

Wuhou Tomb and Dingjun Mountain are close. You can visit Dingjun Mountain's battlefield setting first, then end at Wuhou Tomb, or see the tomb first and decide whether to climb depending on your energy.

Tip:Seeing both gives the Mianxian Three Kingdoms route a clearer battlefield-and-memorial structure.
5

Do not expect strong entertainment value

The value here is history and commemoration, not interactive projects.

Tip:Visitors interested in Zhuge Liang, the Three Kingdoms, and Shu Han history will get more from it than visitors looking for lively street scenes.
Highlights
  • Wuhou Tomb is the actual tomb of Zhuge Liang and one of the most meaningful stops on the Mianxian Three Kingdoms route.
  • The tomb mound, worship hall, main hall, and shrine spaces form a complete tomb-garden layout.
  • Ancient cypresses and natural details such as vines climbing the trees give the site a stronger sense of time.
  • The Dingjun Mountain setting connects the tomb with Zhuge Liang's Northern Expeditions and Shu Han memory.
  • It shares a theme with Wuhou Shrine and Zhuge Ancient Town, but the mood is quieter and more commemorative.
Insider Tips

Wuhou Tomb requires a separate ticket, so do not confuse it with the free street area of Zhuge Ancient Town.

Allow 1.5-2 hours; slow viewing is better than quick photos.

Come early on a weekday if you want the tomb garden to feel quieter.

In summer, prepare sun protection and water, and think through transport after the visit.

If choosing only two core Mianxian Three Kingdoms stops, prioritize Wuhou Shrine and Wuhou Tomb.
