Use it as a lighter day around Tangkou

Emerald Valley works well before or after Huangshan Scenic Area because it is much easier than a mountain summit route.

Follow the pools rather than rushing to one photo spot

The changing color of the water is the main value. Move steadily through the pools and bamboo sections instead of clustering at the first clear view.

Choose a shorter turnaround if traveling with family

Families and older travelers do not need the full route to get the point of the valley. A focused pool-and-bridge route is enough.

Keep transport simple

Because the valley sits near Tangkou, a taxi from the South Gate hotel area is usually more efficient than building a complicated bus plan.
