Plan at a glance

Location, entrances and altitude

Cloud Grassland is in Shanchuan Township, Anji County, Huzhou, at an elevation of about 1,168 metres. It has different entrance arrangements, including the Beinong No. 1 Visitor Centre and the No. 3 Visitor Centre near Yucun. Visitor centres, cable cars, cliff activities, the alpine grassland and Xianxia Town are at different levels, so movement after entry relies on park transport, cable cars or walking.

A first visit usually needs half a day to a full day. The main ticket, cable cars, park shuttles and high-altitude or entertainment activities may have different inclusion rules, so confirm which areas you want and whether you need separate activity tickets before buying.

Opening and weather limits

For daytime planning, allow roughly 9:00–17:00; last admission may be earlier. Night arrangements may be offered in summer or on holidays. Fog, heavy rain, strong wind, snow, rain and low temperatures can affect cable cars, high-altitude activities, shows and summit roads, so leave room for changing weather.

The up and down cable-car lines, visitor centres and internal vehicles may have different operating boundaries. Confirm the return method before going up; different cable-car lines may end in different places, and the basic ticket may not include high-altitude activities.

Choose your visit

Cliff activities and alpine grassland

Cliff Heartbeat Park suits visitors interested in high-altitude activities such as glass walkways, cliff swings and via ferrata. Each activity has its own height, weight, age, health and weather requirements, and the activities actually operating change with the day's arrangements.

The alpine grassland is better suited to families, photography and an easy walk. Grass, themed buildings and outdoor facilities are spread out at a manageable pace. Wind, temperature and sunlight are different at the summit, so older adults and children need a jacket, water and sun protection.

Xianxia Town and night activities

Xianxia Town has a themed street area, shows and interactive content, with possible lighting and other activities when open at night. Live shows, character interaction, drones and lighting projects all depend on the day's schedule, weather and safety management, so not every session can be guaranteed.

Visitors who enjoy themed environments can use Xianxia Town as a slower section after the mountain activities. If there is heavy fog, wind or rain, or the cable-car operation changes, Xianxia Town may also be affected; keep an early-descent or reduced high-altitude plan available.

Who this suits

High-altitude activity enthusiasts, families and visitors seeking a cool mountain escape may all enjoy this attraction, but choose activities according to the conditions of the group. Visitors afraid of heights, prone to motion sickness, unable to tolerate long queues or sensitive to weather changes can focus on the grassland and lower-intensity areas.

The attraction is less suitable for visitors unwilling to use stairs, wait for a cable car or accept that not every activity is included in one ticket. Set the main goal first, then decide whether a full package is worthwhile.

Build your day

About 4–5 hours: cable car and high-altitude activities

Enter through the visitor centre, take the cable car up according to that day's arrangements, and prioritise the high-altitude activity you most want to try. Then continue to the alpine grassland for a break and descend on the route available that day. Popular activities and park vehicles may have queues, so completing your top choice early makes the timing easier to control.

The up and down routes follow that day's arrangement, and you should confirm the final descent method before going up. If a line does not return directly to the original entrance, ask in advance about transfers, walking and vehicle connections.

About 6–8 hours: high altitude, grassland and Xianxia Town

On a first visit, start with the cliff activities in the morning, move to the alpine grassland for a midday break and enter Xianxia Town in the afternoon according to the shows and open areas. Leave buffer time between each area for queues, walking and transfers.

Whether to stay for the night activities depends on the last cable car, weather and return vehicles that day. In heavy fog, wind or rain, or when activities pause, reduce time in the high-altitude areas and descend along the safe route.

Easy route with children

With young children, prioritise the alpine grassland, rest areas and lower-intensity activities suitable for their height, and treat high-altitude activities as optional. Bring a light jacket, comfortable shoes, water and sun protection; the temperature at the summit may be lower than expected.

Children's activities follow the height and health requirements shown on site; adult supervision cannot replace the activity restrictions. If a child is tired or frightened, or the weather worsens, ending the mountain visit is more sensible than chasing the next activity.

Get there

Driving and visitor centres

For driving, navigate to Cloud Grassland's Beinong Visitor Centre or No. 3 Visitor Centre. Queues and parking may differ between the two entrances. Driving or hiring a car from Hangzhou or Shanghai usually makes timing easier, and the return vehicle should be arranged in advance.

From Anji Station, take a taxi to the attraction; the ride takes about 60 minutes. A vehicle may not always be available for the return from the mountain, so public-transport travellers should allow time for waiting and pre-arranged pick-up.

Cable cars, shuttles and movement inside

Cable cars, park shuttles and walking routes between the mountain areas have different operating conditions. Confirm the stop and final return time before boarding; map distance alone does not show whether you can walk back to the visitor centre in time.

High-altitude sections are windy and include slopes and steps, so wear sports shoes with good grip. With a stroller or large luggage, confirm in advance whether the cable cars, vehicles and activity entrances are practical to use.

Know before you go

Weather and high-altitude activities

Heavy fog, rain, strong wind, lightning and snow may pause cable cars or high-altitude activities. Improvement in the weather does not mean operations restart immediately. Continue checking the on-site arrangement after entry, and do not remain on glass walkways, cliff edges or exposed platforms in wind or rain.

Height, weight, age and health requirements apply separately to each activity. Visitors prone to fear of heights or motion sickness, or with cardiovascular risks, should use viewpoints and the grassland walk as alternatives.

Fees and activity scope

The main ticket, cable cars, sightseeing vehicles and high-altitude activities may be sold separately, as may night sessions and temporary events. Check the inclusion of each item in a package; one activity ticket does not define access to other areas.

Food and supplies on the mountain are limited, and prices and opening arrangements may change. Bring light refreshments and water, take rubbish with you, and do not block cable-car or shuttle stops while resting.

Return and safety

The final descent may be affected by cable cars, park transport and weather, so confirm the last service early. If you miss a vehicle, do not walk a long distance down an unfamiliar mountain road or along a vehicle route; contact the attraction or follow the on-site directions.
