Location and access scope

Feiying Pagoda is inside Feiying Park at No. 155 Taxia Street, Wuxing District, Huzhou. You can enter through either the South or North Gate, with the South Gate making it easier to find the pagoda first. The public park and the pagoda visit are separate arrangements; entering the park does not automatically include access inside the pagoda.

If you only see the exterior, park and surrounding gardens, allow about 1 hour. If you want to climb, see the inner pagoda details and walk through the park slowly, allow about 1.5–2 hours. The interior and stairways are compact, so decide whether to climb based on your fitness, the weather and the day's opening conditions.

Tickets and opening hours

The public area of Feiying Park is free, but climbing Feiying Pagoda requires a separate ticket. The park's hours differ from the pagoda's climbing and ticketing hours. Climbing is generally arranged during the day, and the last ticket sale or entry may be earlier than the park's closing time.

Whether the interior is open, how many people may climb and how admission is checked may change. Confirm on arrival whether climbing is available that day, then decide whether to include the interior in your route. The exterior and park remain independent parts of the visit if climbing is unavailable.

The pagoda-within-a-pagoda structure

Feiying Pagoda's main feature is the inner stone pagoda set within the outer brick-and-timber pagoda. Start at the base by looking at the overall proportions, materials and exterior details, then enter if the day's arrangement allows it to see the inner pagoda and selected carvings.

The interior is narrow, with steep stairs and limited passage width. Visitors who are afraid of heights, have difficulty walking or knee problems, or are carrying large luggage can focus on the base, park and exterior architecture rather than forcing the climb.

Miaomiao Pavilion and the park walk

Feiying Park also has Miaomiao Pavilion, inscriptions, a lotus pond and covered walkways. These public garden features work well with the pagoda as part of one old-city walk. The park offers a slower space where companions who do not climb can wait and rest.

Visitors interested in calligraphy, historic buildings and urban history can view the pagoda, inscriptions and water features together. Seasonal plants and weather change the garden's appearance, but the buildings and public spaces remain the dependable focus.

Build your day

About 1.5 hours: park and pagoda climb

Enter from the South Gate and first observe the relationship between the outer and inner pagodas at the base. Then enter the pagoda if tickets and climbing are available that day. After leaving, follow the park paths to Miaomiao Pavilion, the inscriptions and lotus pond, then exit from the North Gate or your original entrance.

The interior stairs may require visitors to pass one at a time or go up and down in sequence. Include queueing time in a short route. In rain, with wet stairs or during temporary crowd control, switch to the exterior and park route.

Park and exterior only

Without climbing, view the pagoda body and base details from the South Gate, then follow the park paths to Miaomiao Pavilion, the inscriptions, the old well and the waterside corridor. This version suits families with children, older adults or visitors who want a short city walk, and the timing is easier to control.

If someone in the group wants to climb, first check whether the interior stairs are suitable, then let the others rest in the public park. The inside and outside are different experiences; everyone does not need to follow the same route.

Half-day old-city combination

Feiying Park can be combined with Taxia Street, Yishang Street, Xiaoxi Street or Chaoyin Bridge. Adjust the order to opening hours and the group's energy. Complete the time-limited climb first, then leave the lanes and river bridges for the later part of the walk.

The park, nearby museums, districts and restaurants operate separately. Feiying Park is free to enter, but confirm whether nearby venues are open before relying on them. Before returning, confirm the station or parking area; even short old-city walks can slow down in crowds.

Get there

From Huzhou Station to the park

From Huzhou Station, a taxi to Feiying Park takes about 15 minutes. You can also take a bus toward the First Hospital or Feiying Park area and walk to an entrance. Search for the Feiying Park South or North Gate in your navigation rather than sending a vehicle into the narrow streets below the pagoda.

For driving, look first for an official parking area near Feiying Park. Parking conditions differ between weekdays and holidays, and walking in after parking is usually faster than repeatedly searching near the gate.

Moving inside the park

The park paths are mostly level garden paths, while the pagoda stairs require a different level of fitness. Companions with strollers, luggage or limited mobility can remain in the public park; confirm who will accompany the climbers before entering.

Know before you go

Stairs and weather

The wooden stairs inside are narrow and steep. Hold the rail and move in the order of the crowd. Rain or damp weather increases the risk of slipping, so check the stairs before climbing and visit only the exterior if conditions are unsuitable.

Do not stop for photographs or move against the flow on the stairs, and do not let children run inside the pagoda. Large luggage is not suitable for the narrow interior; arrange storage or leave it with a companion first.

Views and expectations

The view from higher up depends on the weather, window direction, trees and which floors are open that day. A complete view of the old city or distant scenery cannot be guaranteed. The pagoda structure and the park outside remain stable parts of the visit.

The free park and pagoda-climbing ticket are separate. The climbing ticket also does not include nearby museums, old streets or food. When linking old-city stops, confirm the opening hours and entrances for each one.

Time and breaks

The interior may use crowd limits or queues on weekends and when tour groups arrive. Entering earlier may avoid some crowds, but waiting still depends on that day's traffic. If you do not want to queue, walk through the park first and decide whether to climb afterward.

Rest and supply points inside and outside the park may change. Bring water and sun protection, and allow your legs time to recover after the climb before continuing through the old city.
