Location and route character
Hidden Dragon Waterfalls is in Daxi Village, Tianhuangping Town, Anji County, Huzhou. It is an independent attraction centred on streams, waterfalls and mountain paths. It is separate from nearby Hidden Dragon Waterfalls Rafting, with different tickets and management; confirm the waterfall attraction when navigating and buying.
A quick route takes about 1.5–2 hours, while a full hike usually takes about 2.5–3.5 hours. Climbing higher or using in-park transport changes the timing. The attraction mainly consists of steps, boardwalks and wet mountain paths, so it does not suit visitors looking for a flat walk.
Tickets and weather boundaries
For daytime planning, allow roughly 8:00–16:30 in the high season and 8:00–16:00 in the low season; last admission may be earlier. The main ticket and the magic carpet, slide, cable car and glass facilities are separate arrangements. Weather, capacity and maintenance affect operations.
Water volume, rainfall and surface moisture change both the appearance of the waterfalls and walking safety. In rain or after prolonged rainfall, do not enter flooded, slippery or temporarily closed mountain sections just to complete the route.

Waterfall group and stream paths
Hidden Dragon Waterfalls suits visitors who enjoy forests, streams and walking with a reasonable number of steps. Areas such as Turtle Listening to the Waterfall, Rainbow through Dragon Gate, Dragon Whisker Waterfall, Dragon Veil Waterfall and Long Dragon Waterfall each have different water flow and terrain. Water volume changes with the season and rainfall.
Photographs show the waterfall under one set of water conditions only. When the flow is lower, streams, rock walls and forest paths remain the main content; with high flow, spray, noise and surface risks also increase.
The summit and easier-transport options
Higher points such as Dragon Climb Platform offer views toward the gorge and villages but require more climbing. A magic carpet, slide or other activity may reduce some of the uphill effort. Confirm whether it is operating, where it reaches and whether more walking is required at the entrance.
With older adults or children, stop at the main waterfall area first and decide based on energy whether to climb higher. In-park transport does not replace every section, and steps may still be required after buying a ride.
Who this suits
Outdoor walkers and families who enjoy waterfalls and forest settings are a good fit. Visitors unwilling to use steps, wearing ordinary sandals or carrying large luggage should choose a shorter route and end early if needed.
Build your day
About 1.5–2 hours: core waterfalls
Enter at the visitor centre and follow the stream path past Turtle Listening to the Waterfall and Rainbow through Dragon Gate to Long Dragon Waterfall. Then return by the original route or use a descent option open that day, depending on your energy. The core route includes wet stone, steps and viewpoints, so wear shoes with good grip and slow down.
The route may require a turnback when water is high or surfaces are slippery after rain. Do not cross barriers, step into the stream or enter an unopened mountain section to reach the planned endpoint.
About 2.5–3.5 hours: full hike
Visitors with good fitness can follow the stream uphill past Dragon Whisker Waterfall, Dragon Veil Waterfall and Long Dragon Waterfall, then continue to Immortal Bridge or Dragon Climb Platform before descending on the open boardwalk route. Uphill walking, stops, photographs and the return all take time; do not estimate the day from the uphill distance alone.
If companions become tired, there is lightning, steps are slippery or the return time is short, turning back at the core waterfalls is safer. The higher viewpoint is optional.
Route with older adults and children
Walk to the nearer waterfalls and stream area first, then decide based on the children and older adults whether to use the magic carpet or another descent option. Even shallow water may have strong flow, wet rocks and drops; children must be accompanied by an adult near the water.
These activities reduce only part of the walking. Steps and wet mountain paths still need to be crossed. Bring a towel, spare clothes and water, and do not continue a long walk in wet shoes on a rainy day.
Get there
Driving and Anji Station
For driving, navigate to the main entrance or an official parking area of Hidden Dragon Waterfalls. The 1.5-hour estimate from Hangzhou and 2.5-hour estimate from Shanghai are route estimates only; mountain roads and holiday traffic can extend the drive, so leave time for entry and parking.
From Anji Station, a taxi to the attraction takes about 40 minutes. Public transport requires a transfer in Tianhuangping Town, so arrange the return in advance. Confirm that your navigation is not sending you to the nearby rafting entrance.
Moving inside the attraction
Movement inside mainly uses paths, steps and boardwalks. The magic carpet, slide, cable car and glass facilities each have their own stops and fees. Before buying, confirm where you will arrive, whether more walking is required and how you will make the final descent.
Know before you go
Wet surfaces and water safety
Stone paths, metal stairs and areas near the waterfalls often have spray. Wear sports shoes with good grip and slow down, especially after rain. Do not cross railings, stand in dangerous areas below a waterfall or enter deep water with a strong current.
If you want to stop by shallow water, observe the flow, rocks and marked boundaries first. Water levels can change quickly after heavy rain; turn back immediately at warnings or closed sections.
Activities and the nearby rafting area
The magic carpet, slide, glass facilities and other activities may cost extra and may pause because of weather, maintenance or capacity. Hidden Dragon Waterfalls Rafting is a separate neighbouring activity, so confirm its ticket, entrance and route separately.
Do not skip a safety check or use an unofficial route to reach an activity. After finishing, return along the designated route; do not assume that you can leave directly from the other side.
Equipment, supplies and the return
Bring shoes with good grip, insect repellent, a towel, water and rain protection. Supplies along the mountain paths are limited and opening arrangements may change. With children or older adults, leave energy and time for the return, and confirm the last transport and other return options in advance.
Parking at the attraction, food in Tianhuangping Town and food in nearby villages are separate arrangements. After leaving the waterfall attraction, confirm your vehicle and next direction, and avoid searching for an unfamiliar mountain road after dark.
