Plan at a glance
Park scope and time needed
Zhongnan Baicao Garden is in Luojia Village, Dipu Town, Anji County, Huzhou. It is a large park combining a botanical garden, animal areas and rides. The entrance, Happy World, Animal World and Plant World are far apart, so a first visit usually needs half a day to a full day.
For daytime planning, allow roughly 8:00–17:00; last admission may be earlier. Holiday crowds and group activities affect entry speed. The park ticket, sightseeing vehicles, train, animal interactions and rides may have different inclusion rules, so check the ticket type before buying.
Tickets and ways to move
Basic admission does not necessarily include animal interactions, shows, sightseeing vehicles, trains and paid rides. Because the park is large, walking, sightseeing vehicles and electric carts may have separate fees and operating arrangements. Your fitness and the ages of your companions should guide the choice.
Get the park map and that day's show schedule first, then decide whether to start in the rides or animal area. Visitors who want the botanical garden, animals and rides all in one day should not compress the itinerary into a few hours.

Plants, animals and rides
Families looking for a mixed day out can combine plant scenery, animal observation and basic rides. Happy World is more ride-focused, Animal World focuses on education and animals, and Plant World is a slower section for later in the day.
The areas have different levels of activity, so choose according to the family's interests. For young children, the animal area and gentler rides may work better than trying to complete everything; adults should estimate the distances and return energy in advance.
Animal interactions and the small train
The park may schedule animal feeding, shows and a farm train, but animal conditions, show times, routes and fees can change. Whether you see a particular animal, join one interaction or get off at every stop follows the day's open arrangements.
When feeding animals, use only the feed permitted by the park. Do not give animals food brought from outside. Visitors who want a closer look should follow the fences and staff instructions and keep a safe distance.
Who this suits
Zhongnan Baicao Garden suits families, visitors looking for gentle activities in a natural setting and people comfortable with walking in sections. A stroller and in-park transport can reduce the physical load, but queues are still possible during major holidays.
If you only want a small botanical garden or a dedicated animal visit, the park's size and number of activities may be more than you need. Choose the main goal first, then select two or three areas for a more coherent visit.
Build your day
Half-day route: rides and animals
After entering, go to Happy World according to the opening times and choose basic rides suitable for the children's heights. Then walk or use in-park transport to Animal World. Leave from the nearer exit or rest area after the animal visit; this suits families with limited time.
Popular rides and animal shows may run in different time slots. Check the day's arrangements before adding a show, and do not run long distances through the large park to catch it.
Full-day route: rides, animals and plants
On a first visit, spend the morning in Happy World, rest near the animal area around midday, visit Animal World in the afternoon, then slow down in Plant World and its bamboo and garden sections. The park is large, so use available sightseeing transport when energy drops later in the day.
If you want an animal interaction or show, confirm the time and entrance first. If one activity pauses temporarily, use Plant World as the backup section instead of rebuilding the whole day.
Two-day family arrangement
If you stay in or near the park, use the first afternoon for the nearer rides and animal areas, then leave the plant scenery and unfinished activities for the second day. Accommodation, admission, the train and in-park activities are sold in different combinations, so confirm what each purchase includes.
With young children, one main area per day is easier. Note the locations of rest areas, drinking water and toilets after entering, so you do not need to search a long distance when a child becomes tired.
Get there
Driving and station transfer
Driving from Hangzhou or Shanghai to Anji is convenient. Navigate to the main entrance or parking area of Zhongnan Baicao Garden. The parking area and ticket entrance are reasonably clear, but entry queues may form on holidays, so arrive early.
From Anji Station, a taxi to the park takes about 40 minutes. Public transport is less suitable for families needing frequent back-and-forth transfers; confirm whether a taxi can be called for the return or arrange a pick-up in advance.
Moving inside the park
The park is large, and walking the entire area uses considerable energy. Sightseeing vehicles, electric carts and the small train may have different routes, fees and stops. Before boarding, confirm whether you can get off near your target area and where the return stop is.
Know before you go
Activities may be charged separately
The basic ticket, sightseeing vehicle, small train, animal interactions, shows and rides may all be separate. When buying a package, check that it includes the activities you want; the ticket name alone does not define every ride included.
Animal shows, interactions and transport may change with weather, maintenance or crowds. If you miss a particular slot, use the map to move to another area instead of crossing the park repeatedly.
Animal safety and feeding
Animal feeding must use the feed allowed by the park. Do not give animals fruit, vegetables or snacks brought from outside. Keep behind the fence, do not hit glass or reach across the boundary, and do not force an animal's attention while it is eating.
With children, explain first which areas allow visitors to approach and which are viewing-only. If an animal is distressed, staff ask visitors to leave or an area closes temporarily, follow the on-site direction out.
Weather, food and energy
There are many outdoor sections. Use sun protection and drink enough water in summer, and bring rain protection on wet days. Some roads, lawns and areas near the animals may become muddy, so comfortable shoes are more useful than adding more activities.
Food choices and prices inside may change. You can bring water and simple food, subject to the park's rules. With older adults or children, reduce long walks in the afternoon and arrange the return earlier.
