How to Visit
1

Choose the right opening day and time

Plan for Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00, with last entry at 16:30. It is closed on Mondays except public holidays.

Tip:Arriving earlier gives you enough time to see both the urban-history and industrial-development sections.
2

Bring identification for entry

Independent visitors should bring a passport or ID to collect an admission ticket; groups need to reserve in advance.

Tip:Admission is free, but identification is still needed for individual entry.
3

Start with City Memory

Start with the second-floor City Memory exhibition, then continue to the third-floor galleries on the Great Wall and the steel city.

Tip:This order gives the clearest introduction to Jiayuguan's development from Gobi construction site to modern city.
4

Use the square as your transport anchor

The museum is east of Xiongguan Square. Buses 3 and 5 stop directly nearby; buses 1 and 9 stop at Lüjingyuan, while buses 4 and 12 stop at Xiongguan Square.

Tip:In summer, this works well as an indoor midday stop combined with a walk around the square.
