Book the park ticket before arrival
Use the official Jiuzhaigou or Aba Tourism online ticket channels and buy the park admission plus sightseeing bus for the correct date. Passport information may be needed for overseas travelers.
Enter early and follow the shuttle system
The park is shaped like a Y. Sightseeing buses take visitors deep into the valleys first, then you move down through selected stops and transfer at Nuorilang Center.
Use the right branch for core lake-and-waterfall views
Prioritize Arrow Bamboo Lake, Panda Lake, Five Flower Lake, Pearl Shoal Waterfall, and Mirror Lake if time and bus routing allow. Walk boardwalks where possible instead of staying on buses all day.
Use Nuorilang as the decision point
Eat, rest, and decide how much of the left branch and Shuzheng Valley you can still cover. Long Lake and Five-Color Pond are the key left-branch stops.
Finish with a realistic exit plan
Do not leave the lower valley too late. Keep time for return buses, the walk out, and transport back to Zhangzha hotels.
✦Stay near Zhangzha or the park entrance the night before if you want a full day inside.
✦Bring snacks and water because Nuorilang Center is the main food stop inside the park.
✦Walk slowly at higher stops such as Long Lake; the altitude is noticeable for some visitors.
✦Smoking, drone use, and leaving marked paths are restricted inside the park.
✦Do not try a rushed Chengdu same-day return if this is your first visit.
