Secure the cableway plan before you go
Glacier Park is the highest-demand route. Book early, choose a morning slot if possible, and keep Yunshanping or Yak Meadow as backup plans.
Do high altitude first
If visiting Glacier Park, go there before Blue Moon Valley. Move slowly at the 4,506 m platform and only continue upward if you feel well.
Use Blue Moon Valley as the lower-altitude finish
After the mountain route, take the scenic bus toward Blue Moon Valley and walk the lakeside boardwalks at an easier pace.
Keep transport simple on the return
Confirm the last bus, driver pickup, or chartered-car meeting point before you split from your group or enter a valley route.
✦Spend at least a little time acclimatizing in Lijiang before going high.
✦Bring warm layers, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water even on sunny days.
✦Buy oxygen only if you need it, but know where to get it before ascending.
✦Weather can close views quickly; avoid building the day around a single photo.
✦Do not combine every cableway, show, and valley stop unless you have a very early start.
