How to Visit
1

Reset expectations before you go

OCT East is no longer the old multi-park thrill complex. The visit now works best as a quiet mountain-and-lake outing with a scenic train ride, European-style architecture, and fewer crowds.

Do not plan this as a full amusement-park day
2

Head straight to Tea Stream Valley

Most of the practical sightseeing value is now concentrated around Tea Stream Valley. The Interlaken-style town area, lakeside viewpoints, and forest train stops are the parts that still feel rewarding for casual visitors.

Many older flower, tea-field, and valley zones have been reduced or closed
3

Prioritize the forest train

The forest train is the core experience. The loop ride lasts around 50 minutes and moves through wooded slopes, small valleys, and European-style buildings with a soft, nostalgic mood.

The back carriage, left window side, gives the best wide photo angle
4

Use the stopover strategically

The train pauses briefly at one intermediate stop. If the timing works, get off, walk a little, and re-board later to stretch the experience instead of treating it as a one-pass ride only.

This is the easiest way to turn the visit into a slower half-day
Highlights
  • The 50-minute forest train remains the signature reason to visit
  • Interlaken-style facades and lakeside corners still photograph well even after the area's downsizing
  • Tea Stream Valley feels much quieter than Shenzhen's main theme parks
  • The mountain approach from Yantian already adds a resort feel before you enter
  • It works well for photographers, nostalgia-driven visitors, and anyone wanting a slow day out
Insider Tips

Drive if possible; it is the simplest way to reach Tea Stream Valley directly

Do not center the itinerary on Knight Valley, which is still under major renovation

Keep budget and time focused on the forest train rather than chasing closed zones

If you are relying on public transport, check the latest transfer bus situation before leaving the metro

Treat the visit as a quiet valley park, not a big adrenaline stop
