Shows usually run between 20:00 and 21:20, but holidays and seasonal changes may produce 19:20 or 21:20 performances. Use the ticket information and the day's announcement as the final reference.
How much time to allow
Arrive at least 40 minutes early for ticket collection, security screening, and the walk into the theatre. The venue is at the mountain base, but the entrance still involves walking and an uphill section. Plan the night-time return separately; the show's end time is not the same as the time you will reach central Tai'an.

The main experience is the relationship between the stage and the mountain, the changing lights, and the group performances; the story details are only one part of the visit.
Viewing positions and prices vary substantially between sections. For a lower-cost option, start by checking the B-section seating. If you want a fuller view, compare the A and VIP sections. Before choosing a higher-priced ticket, check the seat, performance time, and cancellation terms.

The show suits visitors who have already planned Mount Tai or Dai Temple and want an evening historical production. It also works for families with older adults or children who prefer a seated performance after a day out. Travellers who find hills, night-time cold, or outdoor venues difficult should check the weather and return transport first.

From the city to the theatre
The city has paid shuttle minibuses to the performance entrance, at about CNY 10 per person per ride. You can also take bus 19 to Tianzhu Peak scenic area. A high-speed rail shuttle from Tai'an Station may be added during the busy season; use it only when it is operating that day.
If driving, navigate to Tianzhu Peak scenic area and follow the on-site signs to the theatre checkpoint. Public transport may run less frequently after the show. Driving, booking a ride in advance, or confirming the return shuttle is more reliable for the journey out.
Entry and seating
After arriving, complete ticket collection and security screening before taking your seat in the assigned section. The outdoor theatre involves walking, and it takes time to settle into the seating area. If you are travelling with older adults or children, keep warm layers and water easy to reach.
If you want to combine Dai Temple and the show in one day, use Dai Temple as the daytime cultural stop and continue to Tianzhu Peak later. This is an optional combination; do not cut the main Dai Temple or Mount Tai visit too short just to catch the show. Evening transport between the two areas needs a separate plan.

Public transport and shuttles
The correct arrival point for the Fengshan Ceremony is Tianzhu Peak scenic area, not the Mount Tai hiking entrances at Red Gate or Tianwai Village, and not the railway area around Taishan Station. City shuttle minibuses and bus 19 are the regular options in the available plan; the high-speed rail shuttle is seasonal.
When booking transport or a ride-hailing car, use Tianzhu Peak scenic area or the performance theatre as the destination and confirm the pick-up point for the return. Calling a car after a night-time performance may take time, so arrange the return for this outlying area in advance.
Know before you go
Weather and warm clothing
The performance is outdoors, and heavy rain or other severe weather can lead to a last-minute cancellation. Check the cancellation terms before fixing a date. Performance times and programme effects change with the day's arrangements.
Tianzhu Peak becomes noticeably colder at night, so bring a warm coat. Walking, the uphill approach, and security screening take time; shoes with good grip are safer than footwear that is awkward to walk in. In wet weather, allow extra time for slippery ground and slower entry.
Tickets and the programme
Advance reservation is usually not required, but buying online in advance makes it easier to choose a performance. The B, A, and VIP sections have different prices. Student and senior discounts and channel prices follow the rules in effect on the day.
Holidays may add performances and may also create longer ticket-collection and security queues. Whether to join the on-site calligraphy and painting auction is optional and does not affect the main show. After the performance, deal with the return first so that you do not miss the last available transport.
