Denglou Cape is in Nanji Village, Jiaowei Township, Xuwen County. Navigate to "Denglou Cape" or "China's Southernmost Point on the Mainland"; the usual entrance is the car park by the lighthouse and landmark stone. The cape is free and accessible all day, with afternoon through sunset being the most useful time for sea views. Its core is the lighthouse, water-confluence line, reefs and wind-turbine coast, not a large set of indoor facilities.
Two to three hours for the cape, a full day for Nanji Village
Two to three hours is enough for the southernmost-point monument, blue-and-white lighthouse and the water-confluence beach. Allow a full day if you also want the coral-reef protected area, Artists' Village, Tree-shade Coffee, wind-turbine corridor and sunset. If you also want the Pineapple Sea and Dahan Sand Dunes, use two days rather than trying to make several distant stops in one day from central Zhanjiang.

A 2–3 hour southernmost-point route
Enter from the car park, go first to the southernmost-point monument and blue-and-white lighthouse, then continue to the water-confluence beach to see where the Qiongzhou Strait and Beibu Gulf meet, before returning to the car park. This works for visitors mainly seeking the landmark and sea photographs. Even when the tide is not right for the shore, the lighthouse and coastline still make a solid visit.
Split a full day around tide and light
Sunrise is possible in the early morning, but do not spend the middle of the day exposed on the coast. Use the afternoon for Artists' Village, coffee or the coastal road, return to the confluence line and reefs near low tide, then wait at the wind-turbine corridor for sunset. This separates tide, sun and photography, and is safer than going straight onto the reefs on arrival and then travelling through the strongest heat.

See the lighthouse, monument and water line in order
Start with the blue-and-white lighthouse and the northern-latitude 20°13′14″ southernmost-point marker, then decide whether to go down to the confluence beach based on the tide. At high tide you can see the meeting water and wave line; at low tide the sandbar and near-shore space are clearer. In either case, do not walk farther out simply to reach a more dramatic angle without allowing for the returning water.
Give the coral reef and wind turbines different time slots
The coral-reef protected area is best at low tide and in softer light, when the dark reefs and coral fragments are easier to see. The wind-turbine corridor and salt fields work better near sunset for silhouettes. Keeping them separate avoids long exposure in a shade-free coastal midday and makes a coherent route of the coastal road, Artists' Village and cape sunset.

Driving is the easiest way to manage the distance
Driving from central Zhanjiang takes about 2–2.5 hours. Use an official car park, with reference charges of CNY 10–20 per day; Nanji Village's stops are spread out, so a car gives the greatest flexibility. From Xuwen railway station, a taxi takes about one hour. The wind-turbine road suits short photo stops, but do not park at the beach edge or in traffic-control areas.
Without a car, settle the return before you go
Travel first to Xuwen Coach Station, then change to a Jiaowei Township service. Local ride-sharing or an e-bike are more practical for linking villages and coast. An e-bike is about CNY 50 per day, but coastal distance and wind affect the ride; confirm your return, charging and final transport before setting out rather than trying to find a vehicle after sunset.
Know before you go
Tide and footwear are the safety baseline
Check the tide before viewing the confluence line, going down to the beach or walking on coral reef. Low tide gives the best conditions, while high tide is not the time to walk out onto farther reefs or sandbars. Reefs and coral fragments are sharp, so wear non-slip stream shoes or thick-soled clogs, never flip-flops. The exposed coast also needs sunscreen, a hat and long-sleeved sun protection.
Leave margin for food, season and parking
Food at the cape is limited and choices are few, so bring water and snacks; use Jiaowei Market or Fangpo Village for a proper meal. Clear days from October to May are better for sea views and wind-turbine photos, while typhoon weather and extreme heat are poor conditions for forcing the trip. Use only formal parking areas, because wet sand and beach edges can trap a car.
