Treat it as a Qinling road-trip scenic area
This is not a compact attraction.
Tip:It is more like a forest, river-source, waterfall, and viewpoint route along the Baohan Highway into the Qinling Mountains. Self-driving is much smoother; public transport is possible but less flexible.

Use the east route for a first visit
For a first visit, prioritize the source marker, Feiyun Waterfall, and the watershed area.
Tip:These stops match the Jialing River source theme best. Do not try to pack water play, viewpoint climbing, and multiple side routes into the same visit.

On sunny days, streams, Heilongtan, and gorge areas can be good for cooling off.
Tip:After rain, water flow and road conditions become riskier. With children, stay away from deep water, fast currents, and slippery stones.

The scenic area sits along Qinling mountain roads, where fog, bends, and passing traffic are harder after dark.
Tip:Leave enough time for the return in the afternoon, and staying in Baoji city after the visit is the safer plan.
