A free evening district
Enshi Tujia Daughter City is at 41 Ma'anshan Road. The district is free to enter and does not require a reservation. It suits an afternoon-to-evening visit for street walks, folk activities, illuminated scenes and local food rather than a long mountain hike. Free entry does not mean that every show, meal or experience is free.
How much time to allow
An express visit takes about 1.5–2 hours and a highlights visit about 3–4 hours. Arrive after 17:00 if you want the evening atmosphere: use the remaining daylight for the Folk Museum and main street, then visit Baishou Tang Square (摆手堂广场), Nv'erhui Square (女儿会广场) and the central square around the day's activities.

Street and museum visit
For a short stop, enter through the main gate, follow the main street to the Folk Museum, continue to Baishou Tang Square and return along the snack street. This covers the traditional-style buildings and Tujia cultural displays, fitting easily before or after dinner.
Focus on evening activities
If you want a parade, live folk show or bonfire activity, arrive in the evening and keep Baishou Tang Square and Nv'erhui Square in your plan. Times change with holidays and daily operations, so check the latest schedule after entering before deciding when to eat or walk the streets.
Separate the free district from paid shows
The streets, squares and some folk activities are free to enter, while food, snacks, bowl-smashing wine and some bonfire activities cost extra. The paid Xilankapu show at Enshi Grand Theatre is not inside Daughter City; check its ticket and location separately.

Build your day
1.5–2-hour express route
Enter through the main gate, walk along the main street to the Folk Museum, continue to Baishou Tang Square and return via the snack street. Stop for photographs at the giant “Enshi” sign building, the Baishou Tang steps and Fengyu Qiao (风雨桥). Skip the paid activities if time is short.
3–4-hour highlights route
Arrive in the evening and start with the Folk Museum and main street. When the lights come on, check the day's parades and live activities at Xiuqiu Square (绣球广场), Nv'erhui Square or Baishou Tang Square. After the activities, browse the folk market on Nv'er Jie (女儿街), try bowl-smashing wine at Baren Tang (巴人堂) if you wish, then eat at the central square or snack street before leaving.
Leave after the activities
The area around the attraction can become congested after evening activities, making taxis and parking harder than during the day. If driving, confirm the vehicle exit and surrounding roads before leaving. If taking a taxi, walk to a pickup point where vehicles can stop; immediate requests after a show may take time.
Get there
Bus to Daughter City
Take city bus 21, 25 or 31 to the “Daughter City” stop. Use the main gate as the walking target after getting off. The district is spread out, so allow time to walk from the stop to the square if you are catching an activity.
Taxi and driving
A taxi from Enshi city takes about 10–15 minutes and costs about CNY 10–15. If driving, navigate to “Enshi Tujia Daughter City” and use the scenic-area parking lot. Parking and the surrounding roads can be crowded during holidays; an approved nearby parking area followed by a walk is another option.
Know before you go
Check the day's performance schedule
The times of night parades, live shows and bonfire activities change by date; use the day's activity notice. After entering, check the schedule at the visitor center or notice boards. If you miss one event, the Folk Museum, main street and snack street remain available.
Food and activity spending
There are many snack and meal choices, with prices and flavours varying by shop. Check the menu and price before ordering. Review the charges for bowl-smashing wine, bonfires and other experiences separately; Zhangguan Hezha (张关合渣) and Yuan Shi Youxiang (袁氏油香) are food options in the city after leaving.
Photography and walking
The giant “Enshi” sign building, Baishou Tang steps, reflections by Fengyu Qiao and the lantern wall near the Folk Museum are good evening photo spots. Most of the district is level, but the walk from the gate to the squares, activity areas and restaurants is still substantial, so wear shoes comfortable for standing and walking.
Coordinate it with Xilankapu
Daughter City is a free cultural and commercial district, while Xilankapu at Enshi Grand Theatre is an indoor show sold by seat and performance time. They are in different locations. If you plan both on one day, secure the theatre time first and keep a separate evening period for Daughter City.
