Dongxing Port

Treat it as a border-city walking stop

Dongxing Port works best as a 1.5-3 hour visit. The point is not to enter a large scenic area, but to walk around the national gate, Beilun River, port square, and nearby Vietnamese-style street. If you only visit the port area for photos and walking, there is usually no entrance ticket.

Separate visiting the port from crossing into Vietnam

If you only want to see the national gate, boundary markers, Mong Cai across the river, and nearby streets, you do not need Vietnam entry procedures. If you actually plan to cross the border, prepare your passport, visa, or eligible entry-exit documents, and follow the port's same-day clearance rules.

Use Dongxing city as your transport base

From Fangchenggang, first reach Dongxing Railway Station or Dongxing Bus Station, then take a taxi to the port. The port is not far from central Dongxing, and a taxi is usually easier than repeated transfers.

Link nearby small stops together

Near the port, you can also see the China-Vietnam Friendship Bridge, Qing-era boundary marker, Ho Chi Minh Pavilion, China-Vietnam People's Friendship Park, and Vietnamese-style street. Treat them as one compact walking area rather than separate far-apart attractions.

Leave enough time if you plan to cross the border

Recent passenger clearance is commonly planned within daytime-to-evening hours, but border-port arrangements can change because of holidays, construction, passenger flow, or policy adjustments. If you are crossing the border, do not schedule your last bus, hotel check-in, or return plan too tightly.
