How to Visit
1

Decide first between hiking up and using the cableway

Hanjiangyuan's core scenery is gorge, waterfalls, and forest, and the route depends on your stamina.

Tip:If you want the full waterfall line, hike upward from the east gate. If you want an easier visit, combine the cableway with the upper-area route.
2

The waterfall line is better for fit visitors

Yinma Pool, Shuanglong Waterfall, Feihong Waterfall, and Moya Waterfall show Hanjiangyuan's water scenery best, but the route includes many steps and uphill sections.

Tip:If you want to complete it, wear comfortable shoes with grip and allow more than 3 hours.
3

Do not assume the cableway puts every highlight within easy reach

The cableway saves climbing, but it does not make every core waterfall effortless.

Tip:If traveling with older visitors or children, check the day's open areas and walking distance before deciding how far to go.
4

Visit for water in spring and summer, snow or ice in winter

Hanjiangyuan is best when the waterfalls have good flow and the weather is cool. Spring and summer are better for waterfalls and gorges.

Tip:Winter can be special if there is snow or ice, but ordinary cold cloudy weather may not justify a dedicated trip.
5

Leave enough time for the return

Hanjiangyuan is toward Ningqiang and far from central Hanzhong.

Tip:During holidays, the cableway, shuttle, and exit process can all involve waiting, so do not place your return train or long-distance bus too close to the end of the visit.
Highlights
  • Hanjiangyuan focuses on gorges, waterfalls, forest, and summer cooling, making it the strongest water-scenery stop in this group.
  • Moya Waterfall, Feihong Waterfall, and Shuanglong Waterfall are the key waterfall-line sights.
  • Summer is good for a cool, oxygen-rich mountain route.
  • The cableway gives a different view over the forested mountains and can save some energy.
  • Using Ningqiang South Railway Station plus local transport makes more sense than forcing a rushed round trip from central Hanzhong.
Insider Tips

If waterfalls are your priority, choose a season and weather pattern with better water flow instead of expecting too much after a dry spell.

There are many steps, so shoes matter more than photo outfits.

Cableway queues can be long during peak periods and holidays, so leave a wide time buffer.

Glass bridges, grass sliding, and similar projects may require separate payment when open.

If your group has average stamina, walk only the best section instead of forcing a full traverse.
