Name, location, and entrance

Daming Fantasy First City is on Ping’an Avenue in Xianghe County, Langfang, Hebei. Yongding Gate (永定门) is the main visitor entrance. The same destination also appears under names such as “Guoan First City · Daming Fantasy” (国安第一城·大明幻境) and the former name “Tianxia First City” (天下第一城). These names refer to the same site in Xianghe; use “Yongding Gate” as a navigation point.

Ticket prices, reservation requirements, opening hours, and last entry depend on the date of your visit. Check the day’s ticket information and notices before deciding how long to stay. The site is large: allow about 1–1.5 hours for a short visit or 3–4 hours to include the exhibition pavilion and lake area.

Choose your visit

The replica city axis

The central axis is lined with replicas inspired by the walls and gates of Ming- and Qing-era Beijing. Zhengyang Gate (正阳门) and Tiananmen Gate (天安门) here are replicas within the attraction, not the original historic sites in Beijing. The axis is a good focus for visitors interested in traditional-style architecture and garden photography.

Exhibitions and the lake

Tiangong Kaiwu Pavilion (天工开物阁) has previously hosted exhibitions on Zheng He’s voyages and the Ming dynasty, as well as displays of intangible cultural heritage. Exhibitions and interactive activities may change with events or gallery access. Fuhai Lake (福海湖) is a place for a walk, with views across the water towards the exterior of Fu’an Palace and Zheng’an Palace hotels; the hotels are not separate visitor attractions on this page.

Festival performances

Jiuzhou Plaza (九州广场) has previously hosted short acrobatic performances. Spring Festival, May Day, and other holiday periods may bring an opening ceremony, datiehua (打铁花)—a traditional molten-iron fireworks performance—and interactive events. Regular performances are not guaranteed outside announced event periods. Check the current programme for showtimes, exhibitions, and night-time activities.

Build your day

A 1–1.5-hour central-axis visit

Enter through Yongding Gate and follow the central axis to see the Zhengyang Gate and Tiananmen Gate replicas. View Da’an Temple (大安寺) from outside, stop at the central plaza, then return to Yongding Gate along the same route. Allow about 1–1.5 hours, mainly for the key buildings from the outside. The grounds are extensive, so you can walk or use an on-site vehicle if one is operating that day.

A 3–4-hour pavilion and lake route

Start along the central axis, then visit Tiangong Kaiwu Pavilion if its exhibitions are open. Continue to Jiuzhou Plaza for any performance scheduled that day, then walk along Fuhai Lake, view the two hotels from outside, and return to Yongding Gate. Allow about 3–4 hours. If a venue is closed or there is no performance, shorten that stop and spend the time among the buildings and by the lake instead.

If the city wall is open that day and you have time, you can add a climb for a wider view. Check access, open sections, and entry times on site; the wall is not a guaranteed part of every visit.

Get there

Driving and parking

Search for “Daming Fantasy First City” or “Yongding Gate” in your map app. Driving from Beijing or Tianjin takes roughly 1–1.5 hours as a guide, depending on where you start and traffic. The attraction has a car park; check on-site information for charges and available spaces.

Public transport and getting around

There is no direct metro service nearby. From Beijing, look up the live intercity bus route, boarding and alighting stops, and last departure for your travel date; cross-city services have changed over time, so do not rely on a route number from an old guide. Use a live map to check the walk or transfer from your bus stop to the entrance.

The grounds involve long distances. You can walk, or check on site whether four-seat electric carts or shared electric scooters with sidecars are available. Vehicle types, permitted areas, and charges depend on the day.

Know before you go

Tickets, opening, and events

Check the day’s ticket prices, reservation rules, ticketing hours, and last-entry time before setting your visit length. Temporary free-admission offers, annual passes, and holiday programmes apply only to their stated dates and ticket types.

Exhibitions and intangible-heritage activities at Tiangong Kaiwu Pavilion, as well as performances at Jiuzhou Plaza, may be cancelled or changed. Check what is open and scheduled that day before including an indoor exhibition or performance in a short visit.

Photography and food

Light is usually softer from about 15:30 to 17:00, which works well for photos of the red walls, yellow roofs, and hanfu (traditional Chinese dress). Check the closing and last-entry times, and allow enough time to return to the exit. The grounds are spacious and walking distances are long, so wear comfortable shoes.

Yongle Food Street may be closed on weekdays, so bring water and a simple snack. Outside the attraction, you can look for Xianghe-style meat pies at restaurants such as Xinhaiyuan or Yu Family Meat Pie; check their opening hours on the day.
