Plan at a glance
A seasonal tea plantation, not an all-year flower park
Yongfu Cherry Blossom Garden is in Houyu Village, Yongfu Town, Zhangping, Longyan, Fujian. Its core area is the Taipin Cherry Blossom Tea Garden. The main appeal is the interwoven view of tea fields and cherry trees. Blooming is concentrated around late winter to spring, and the main season usually lasts about 2-3 months.
The exact varieties, opening times, and duration depend on that year's temperature, rainfall, and garden management. There is no fixed date when the flowers are certain to be at full peak, so do not assume a particular weekend will be the peak.
Two entrances and tickets
Gate 1 is near the cherry walkway and is the main entrance. Gate 2 is near the small-train station and Fangfei Terrace. Both have car parks. Spaces are tight in the peak season, and arriving early is safer.
An adult ticket costs about CNY 50. Students and visitors aged 60-64 pay half price. Children under 1.2 metres and visitors aged 65 or over enter free. The cherry small train costs about CNY 30 per person. On the larger outside train, a hard seat costs about CNY 30 and a soft seat about CNY 50. These are separate products and are not included with admission.
Opening hours and reservations
Usual opening hours are 8:00-18:00, and in some seasons the gate may open at 7:00. Online booking is sensible during the peak bloom season, while tickets can usually be bought on site at other times. The opening time does not mean every small train, tea room, and viewing facility starts operating at the same moment.
The site is large and has many slopes. A quick visit takes about 2 hours. A complete route through the tea fields, small train, and viewing terraces takes about 4 hours, and mountain travel in both directions must be added separately.

Tea fields and cherry trees
The main landscape is rows of tea bushes alternating with cherry trees. Sun Moon Reflection Lake, the Gate of Love, the tea-garden paths, and Cherry Avenue suit separate stops. You can see the tea rows from low ground and the whole park from higher positions.
Different varieties bloom at different times, so one part of the garden may be early while another is still closed. Follow the areas that are actually open that day, and do not leave the paths to chase a particular photo position.
Small train, viewpoints, and tea rooms
The cherry small train follows a fixed route through the tea garden and covers part of the grounds in a short time. Fangfei Terrace is the high point of the park and overlooks the tea rows and cherry trees. Tea rooms inside the park are separate places for spending money, and their hours, seating, and service may differ from the park's opening hours.
These activities are ticketed or paid for separately. Admission only lets you into the park; it does not mean you can ride the train, enter a tea room, or use every viewing facility free.
Who this suits
The garden suits spring flower viewing, tea-field scenery, short family trips, and visitors who enjoy a slow walk. Photographers can bring long and wide lenses, but bloom stage, weather, and visitor numbers change the conditions. Promotional images are not a guarantee of what you will see.
Build your day
An approximately 2-hour quick route
Enter from Gate 1 and walk Cherry Avenue first. If the queue is acceptable, ride the cherry small train, then go to Fangfei Terrace for a panoramic view and return. If the train queue is very long, use the time for walking and the viewpoint instead.
The quick route should not add the outside large train, a tea room, or drone photography. Two hours is enough for one entrance, one main path, and one high viewpoint.
An approximately 4-hour complete route
Enter from Gate 1 and see Sun Moon Reflection Lake and the Gate of Love first. Walk the tea-garden paths, ride the small train around its loop, and finish by climbing Fangfei Terrace. A tea room can come late in the route, depending on that day's seating and whether you want to stop.
Slopes and steps extend the actual time. In strong afternoon sun and crowds, place Fangfei Terrace in a period when you still have energy and the light is acceptable. In poor weather, prefer the main paths and avoid unmarked areas deep in the tea garden.
One day and nearby plans
If you finish the main park in the morning, you can spend the afternoon in the Xishan Village area to see riverside weeping cherry trees, or choose a nearby night-cherry area. Nearby places have their own tickets, transport, and opening conditions. They are not attached facilities of the main park, and do not add a stop without confirming the return.
Mountain roads can become congested in the bloom season. Rather than filling the whole day, first fix the timing for Yongfu Town and the return to Longyan or Zhangping, then decide how much more to add.
Get there
Driving and mountain roads
The drive takes about 1.5-2 hours from Xiamen and about 1 hour from central Longyan. Navigate to Taipin Cherry Blossom Tea Garden. The final stretch has many bends, so new drivers should slow down and should not overtake to reach the opening time.
Parking at Gate 1 and Gate 2 costs about CNY 10-20 per visit, and spaces are limited in the peak season. Follow the on-site parking instructions after arriving, and do not park on tea paths or village access routes.
High-speed rail, coaches, and taxis
Take high-speed rail to Longyan Station or Zhangping West Station, then a taxi to the local bus station. Transfer to a minibus toward Yongfu Town. The fare is about CNY 18 per person and the ride takes about 1 hour. From town, a taxi takes about 5 minutes to the garden. There are few taxis in town, so visitors without a car should arrange the return driver in advance.
Coach frequency varies between peak and quiet seasons. Ask about the day's return service and boarding point, and do not make the entire return dependent on finding a taxi at the last minute.
Know before you go
Bloom and crowd conditions
The main season usually lasts about 2-3 months, but full bloom, fallen flowers, rain, and low temperatures all change the scene. On peak weekends and holidays, mountain roads can be congested, car parks full, and the entrance queue long. Weekdays or early and late hours are usually easier, but low crowds or ideal bloom cannot be guaranteed.
If you have not bought a ticket in advance, check the day's ticketing at the gate before deciding whether to enter. Do not cross tea rows, walk into planted areas, or pass barriers to photograph one particular angle.
Drone use and site rules
If you plan to fly a drone, complete the reporting required by local flight-management rules in advance and follow the airspace and flying rules at the park. Review times, no-fly zones, and that day's management requirements can differ. Do not rely on temporary equipment rental inside the park, and do not assume one report allows a takeoff at any time.
When walking and photographing, watch tea-garden slopes, drainage channels, and goods vehicles. Wear non-slip sports shoes when paths are wet, and do not let children chase the small train or go near the lake.
Equipment and return
There are few food points in the park, so bring drinking water and a small snack. Morning and evening temperatures in the hills can differ widely, so bring a light jacket. You do not need to complete the drone, small train, and tea room in one visit; protect the return time first.
The car-park exit can queue in the bloom season, especially in the evening. Before leaving, allow time to walk from Fangfei Terrace to the car park, and leave unfamiliar mountain roads before dark.
