Location, entrance and time needed
Nishan Sacred Land is in Nishan Town, Qufu. If you drive or take a taxi, navigate to the Nishan Sacred Land Scenic Area Car Park. Public-transport visitors should go first to Luyuan Visitor Center, then take the free shuttle bus into the scenic area. Parking is free, and the entrance is a long way from University Hall, the Confucius statue and Shengshui Lake.
The usual daytime hours are 09:30–17:00, with ticket sales ending at 16:00. Summer, public holidays and night sessions may extend the opening period, so confirm the same-day arrangement before travelling. Allow about 2–3 hours for a daytime route, 4–5 hours for a route that includes University Hall and the paid show, and additional time for a night visit based on the programme and your return transport.
Main admission, shuttle options and visit choices
Advance online admission is usually CNY 109–119 per person. Children under 14 and visitors aged 60 or above may receive free or half-price admission under the policy for that day. The sightseeing shuttle is about CNY 20 per person; children under 1.2 metres ride free, and the usual arrangement allows unlimited rides before 17:00. Confirm the price, eligibility and operating hours when you book.
The main admission covers daytime access to Nishan Sacred Land. The Golden Sound and Jade Vibration Show requires a separate performance ticket. Nishan Sacred Show, water screens, drone displays and fireworks vary by date, so use the same-day programme to decide whether to stay into the evening.

University Hall, the Confucius statue and Shengshui Lake
The main daytime sights are Guanshui Terrace, the 72-metre Confucius statue, University Hall, the Seventy-Two Sages Gallery and Ren Hall. Inside and around University Hall, you can look at the symmetrical buildings, corridors and domes. Ren Hall offers a brush-copying activity based on lines from the Analects, while the Seventy-Two Sages Gallery gives more context about Confucius and his disciples.
Guanshui Terrace is the main lakeside viewpoint, and the area around Ershun Terrace is suited to looking up at the Confucius statue at the end of Tianming Avenue. The Panshui Bridge beside Shengshui Lake has open views and can offer reflections of the lake and statue in suitable weather. Plan these stops around the shuttle stations and the areas open that day.
Daytime culture, the paid show and night visits
Visitors interested in architecture, immersive cultural experiences and photography can make University Hall, the Confucius statue and Shengshui Lake the daytime focus. Families may find the Analects activity, the Seventy-Two Sages Gallery and the sightseeing shuttle useful because they reduce long walking sections.
The Golden Sound and Jade Vibration Show is a paid add-on in the basement of University Hall. You need both a Nishan Sacred Land admission ticket and a performance ticket. The show lasts about 80 minutes, and the performance ticket is about CNY 135–198; sessions, prices, seats and ticket-exchange arrangements change by date. Treat it as a separate choice after buying admission to the main scenic area.
Night visits may include Nishan Sacred Show, water screens, drones or fireworks on selected dates. The same-day programme determines whether a performance runs, when it starts and where it can be viewed; one evening's schedule does not establish the arrangement for another date.

About 2–3 hours: daytime route
Take the sightseeing shuttle from the entrance to Guanshui Terrace and stop briefly beside Shengshui Lake. Continue to the area around Ershun Terrace to view the 72-metre Confucius statue, then go to University Hall. Inside, visit Ren Hall, the Seventy-Two Sages Gallery and the “Daxue Zhi Dao” steps before leaving according to the shuttle or return arrangement.
This route keeps the main buildings and lakeside viewpoints within one daytime visit. University Hall is far from the entrance and lake area, so the shuttle reduces return walking. If you do not use it, add the walking sections to the total time.
About 4–5 hours: daytime visit with the Golden Sound and Jade Vibration Show
Enter in the afternoon and complete the daytime visit to University Hall, including the Analects activity. Then go to the basement of University Hall according to the ticket-exchange location and entry time shown for the performance. The show requires a separate ticket; arrive at least one hour before the exchange or entry time. Seats and sessions follow the ticket and same-day arrangements.
After the show, go to the Shengshui Lake area if Nishan Sacred Show or another night programme is scheduled. If there is no night programme or you need to catch your return transport, go directly from University Hall towards the shuttle and car park. The Changping Market and Fuzimian Noodles in the basement of University Hall provide simple meals; you can also bring a small amount of food and water.
Late-afternoon entry: night route
If the main purpose is a night visit, enter later in the afternoon, see University Hall and Ren Hall first, then follow the same-day programme towards Shengshui Lake. Nishan Sacred Show, water screens, drones and fireworks may follow different arrangements, so confirm the exit direction and return vehicle for the end of the programme.
Ride-hailing can be difficult when the night session ends and the crowd leaves together. Reserve a vehicle in advance, or walk to Luyuan Visitor Center and try to call a taxi from there.
Get there
From Qufu East Station and by car
From Qufu East Station, take a taxi to Nishan Sacred Land; the ride takes about 20–30 minutes. A tourist line is also available. By car, navigate directly to the Nishan Sacred Land Scenic Area Car Park, where parking is free. The car park, scenic-area entrance and University Hall are separate arrival points.
Inside the scenic area, the entrance is several kilometres from the core buildings and Shengshui Lake. The sightseeing shuttle costs about CNY 20 per person, and children under 1.2 metres ride free. It usually allows unlimited rides before 17:00; confirm the stops, timetable and same-day rules on site.
Public transport and transfers
Public-transport visitors should go first to Luyuan Visitor Center, then take the free shuttle bus into Nishan Sacred Land. When leaving after a night programme, crowds concentrate around the shuttle, car park and ride-hailing areas, so keep the return connection flexible.
Nishan Luyuan Village is west of the scenic area and has its own entrance and ticket. The two attractions can form a two-day itinerary, but they do not share one admission ticket, and Luyuan Village's night programmes are not included in the Nishan Sacred Land main ticket.

Shows, programmes and ticket boundaries
The Golden Sound and Jade Vibration Show requires both the Nishan Sacred Land admission ticket and a performance ticket, and takes place in the basement of University Hall. After buying the ticket, follow the same-day rules for ticket exchange and entry. Sessions, seats, prices and the required arrival time must be confirmed for that date.
Nishan Sacred Show, water screens, drones and fireworks are date-dependent evening programmes. The schedule may change with the season, public holidays, weather and on-site operations. Keep an alternative plan, such as visiting University Hall and leaving without staying for the night programme.
Walking, food and the return journey
The entrance is far from the main sights, so daytime visits combine sightseeing shuttles with walking. Changping Market and Fuzimian Noodles are in the basement of University Hall. Food inside the scenic area may be expensive, so carrying water and a small snack is practical.
Ride-hailing is difficult after the night programme. Reserve a vehicle in advance, or go to Luyuan Visitor Center before trying to call one. The sightseeing shuttle, free entrance shuttle and car park each have their own operating points; confirm the direction of the final leg before leaving.
