Plan at a glance

A valley of flowers, streams and family activities

Manshan Flower Valley is in Manshan Village, Nanying Township, Lingshou County. Its main features include flower fields, streams, waterfalls, lawns, Hobbit-style cottages and glass rafting. It suits families, easy walkers and visitors who want to play by the water. Hikers looking for a strenuous mountain climb may find the trails relatively easy.

Admission and operating hours

Adult admission is RMB 80. Children under 1.2 metres enter free; children from 1.2 to 1.4 metres, students and visitors aged 60 or over pay about RMB 40 with valid ID. Online tickets are usually scanned at the entrance. Check the official ticket page for any reservation or ID-check requirements. Opening and last-entry times change with the season, so check the notice for the day.

How long to spend

Allow 2–3 hours for the uphill sightseeing shuttle, the hilltop stops and the descent. Plan on 4–5 hours if you want to see the flower fields and ride the small train before visiting the hilltop, streams and lawns. Summer temperatures average about 19–23°C. Weekends are busy; late September to early October is cooler and works well for a fuller visit.

Choose your visit

Flower fields and a family stop at the foot of the hill

The Anti-Gravity Waterfall and large lawn are at the foot of the hill, with space for photos, a short break or a family picnic. The flower fields are good for portraits when they bloom in summer. The Hobbit-style cottages are easy to spot and are a popular photo stop; morning light works well for pictures.

Streams, waterfalls and glass rafting

Liantian Waterfall, small streams and pools along the valley are places for children to play in the water, but keep them supervised near the banks. Glass rafting runs for 1,260 metres and is a thrilling activity that needs its own time and queue allowance. Waits can be long on holidays; decide whether to join based on the queue and time remaining.

Who will enjoy it

Families, couples, Hanfu photographers and visitors who enjoy easy walks can focus on the flower fields, lawns, Hobbit-style cottages and waterside stops. The ‘Gliding Airship’ ride (滑翔飞艇) has height, age and weight restrictions; children under 1.3 metres cannot ride. Visitors with pets should check the latest entry rules before setting out; pets are not allowed on rafting and similar rides.

Build your day

A 2–3-hour route using the sightseeing shuttle

Search for “Manshan Flower Valley” in your map app, then follow on-site signs to the main entrance open that day. Walk to the second ticket checkpoint and take the sightseeing shuttle uphill. Visit the hilltop viewing platform, then choose glass rafting or walk downhill. This route suits a shorter visit or anyone looking to limit the climb.

A 4–5-hour route through the flower fields and hilltop

After entering, explore the flower fields and ride the small train. Walk to the second ticket checkpoint and take the sightseeing shuttle uphill. From the drop-off point, climb a short stretch to the hilltop viewing platform, then return by shuttle. Stop at the Hobbit-style cottages, large lawn and streams on the way down, and walk out at the end.

Choosing rafting or a walk down

The glass-rafting queue can change the pace of the visit; include waiting and transfer time if you are using the 2–3-hour plan. If you skip the ride, walk downhill past the waterside stops instead. Taking the shuttle up and walking down reduces the uphill effort.

Get there

Driving to the main entrance

The drive from central Shijiazhuang takes about 1.5–2 hours. Search for “Manshan Flower Valley”; there are mountain roads after leaving the expressway, so slow down. The car park is about 500 metres uphill from the ticket checkpoint. Look for an upper parking level closer to the checkpoint; parking is about RMB 10 per day. On arrival, follow the signs to the entrance open that day.

Tourist bus and shared rides

Book a tourist bus or shared ride through the “Shijiazhuang Smart Bus” mini program or app. A round trip costs about RMB 40 per person and serves several pick-up points in the city, but the bus usually runs only when a group of 30 has been reached. After booking, confirm that the return trip is arranged.

Know before you go

Parking, ticket checks and last entry

The walk from the car park to the ticket checkpoint is about 500 metres uphill. Include it in your arrival time, especially when travelling with older adults or children. The second ticket checkpoint is where visitors transfer to the uphill shuttle. Last-entry times change with the season; check the day’s notice and avoid arriving just before entry closes.

Ride restrictions and weather

Children under 1.3 metres cannot ride the Gliding Airship ride; age and weight limits also apply. Glass rafting queues can be long, and paths by the water and on the mountain become slippery after rain. Summer is cooler than the city but weekends are crowded. Wear shoes with good grip and decide whether to raft based on the weather.

Food and accommodation

There are few dining options at the top; bring drinking water and a small amount of food. Nearby farm restaurants serve local dishes, and Lingshou cured-pork noodles are available at Wang Shen Handmade Noodles and Beihuan Cured-Pork Noodles. For an overnight stay, Shiguang Xiaozhu Guesthouse has charging facilities; check its pet policy before booking.
