How to Visit
1

Use the Zhengguo Canal Scenic Area visitor centre as your arrival point, then follow the route towards the valley floor.

The site has substantial changes in elevation, and the on-site transfer arrangement determines the order of the visit; begin your descent after reaching the higher starting area.

Tip:Do not spend your energy walking around the entrance looking for the gorge; those are not the core sections.
2

Continue from the floating-platform area through the viewing point, downhill passage and waterside path.

This sequence links the gorge, water and cliffs, and walking downhill is easier than repeatedly retracing the route.

Tip:Steps, damp ground and waterside sections are unsuitable for sandals or shoes with poor grip.
3

Continue to Black Gully, then complete the gorge section along the riverside path.

Waterfalls, narrow rock walls and caves are concentrated here, so there is no need to add a high mountain climb.

Tip:Rock surfaces and paths are more slippery after rain; follow staff directions if a section is closed or rerouted.
4

Leave by the designated return route after Black Gully, without making water or high-altitude activities part of the main route.

Treat this as the end of the gorge walk before returning to the entrance area.

Tip:Optional activities can change the pace of the visit; choose them only if conditions and your energy level are suitable.
Highlights
  • A valley-floor route combining the Jing River gorge, water, cliffs and footpaths.
  • The floating-platform area gives an overview of the gorge before the descent.
  • Black Gully concentrates rock walls, waterfalls and caves.
  • Waterside paths suit visitors focused on scenery rather than ridge climbing.
  • A downhill route reduces repeated uphill walking.
Insider Tips

Plan this as a gorge walk, not a quick roadside photo stop.

Wear non-slip walking shoes; bring sun protection and spare socks in summer.

Rain can affect water levels, paths and optional activities; do not cross closed sections.

If your stamina is limited, prioritise the valley floor and Black Gully over higher trails.

With children, keep waterside stops to shallow, easily supervised areas.
