How to Visit
1

Start at the Qianling Scenic Area Visitor Center and buy the main ticket.

The shared Qianling ticket is CNY 100 in peak season and CNY 80 in the low season; the sightseeing shuttle costs CNY 20 separately.

Tip:This is the shared ticket for the Qianling route. The shuttle is an extra purchase, not part of museum admission.
2

Take the sightseeing shuttle to the Tomb of Princess Yongtai & Qianling Museum stop.

From Xi'an, travel to Qian County Station, then continue by bus 1, bus 2, or taxi to the visitor center; the stops are far apart on foot.

Tip:Walking one section can take about 30 minutes and will reduce the time available inside the museum.
3

Follow the exhibition rooms in sequence before moving on.

Focus on finds from the accompanying tombs, including Tang sancai ceramics, pottery figures, mural-related displays, and stone-sarcophagus line carvings.

Tip:The museum galleries and a tomb-passage visit are different experiences.
4

Use the museum as the first stop on the Qianling route, then continue to the Tomb of Prince Yide.

The shuttle route connects the visitor center, the Tomb of Princess Yongtai & Qianling Museum, the Tomb of Prince Yide, the main mausoleum, and the Tomb of Prince Zhanghuai.

Tip:Visiting the main mausoleum first and returning here later adds transfers and walking.
Highlights
  • Finds from Qianling's accompanying tombs provide useful context for Tang burial customs and grave goods.
  • Tang sancai ceramics, pottery figures, and tomb-related stone carvings can be compared with the tomb passages and outdoor sculptures later on the route.
  • The museum is next to the Tomb of Princess Yongtai, but its galleries and the tomb passage are separate visiting spaces.
  • It works well as the first stop before continuing to the other accompanying tombs.
Insider Tips

The outdoor sections of the route have little shade in summer, so the museum is a practical stop during the strongest sun.

Turn off flash photography around murals and artefacts.

Large luggage makes transfers and walking around the tomb sites more difficult; travel light before entering the route.

If visiting the main mausoleum and both princes' tombs on the same day, the sightseeing shuttle is more manageable than walking the whole route.
