Kangle Grassland has widely spaced stops. Before setting out from the entrance, confirm which roads and viewpoints are accessible that day.
Tip:The visit works as a driving route, not as a compact walk between sights.

Build a route around the key stops
Link Wanfo Gorge, the High-Cart Yurt, Auspicious White Stupa, Machangtan Grassland, Nine Rows of Pines, and the Sacred Mountain Viewpoint as time allows.
Tip:Do not try to cover every stop on mountain roads near sunset.

Make the main viewpoints your priority
Use Nine Rows of Pines and the Sacred Mountain Viewpoint as the main photography stops. During the summer flower season, allow additional walking time around Baihua Beach.
Tip:These stops give the clearest combination of grassland, pine forest, and distant snow mountains.

Ride horses only with a local handler
Choose a flatter area such as Machangtan Grassland and go with a local handler rather than riding alone onto unfamiliar slopes or riverbanks.
Tip:Managed riding is the safer way to experience the grassland.

Keep deeper side roads optional
Attempt forest roads, gravel tracks, and deeper side routes only when the weather, vehicle, and driving experience are suitable.
Tip:Standard low-clearance cars should not be pushed too far in.

✦Rain, wind, and low cloud can affect both visibility and road access. Shortening the route is often the better choice in unstable weather.
✦Some later sections are gravel or dirt roads, with more difficult conditions after rain.
✦Bring sun protection, rain gear, and a warm layer; temperatures can change quickly.
✦Ask before photographing herders, religious sites, horses, or livestock. Do not feed animals or walk across grazing land.
