Reaching the Kangle area from Zhangye normally takes around 1-1.5 hours, while public transport is limited. Treat the corridor as a half-day drive instead of a quick city-side stop.
Tip:Visit only from May to October. The scenic area is open from 08:30 to 18:00, with last ticket sales at 17:30, and it closes in winter.

Confirm the day's driving arrangement at the entrance
Confirm whether self-driving is allowed that day and how the sightseeing bus operates. If driving, enter from the east and leave from the west to reduce backtracking.
Tip:Mountain weather can affect road access, so the entrance arrangement matters more than a fixed route plan.

Follow a short grassland and viewpoint route
Make Jiupai Pine, the grassland boardwalk and the higher viewpoints your main stops. Allow 3-5 hours rather than trying to drive every section of the corridor.
Tip:Softer afternoon light is usually better for the broad grassland views than harsh midday sun.

Horse riding, Yugur costume experiences and farmhouse meals work best as optional additions after the main landscape stops.
