Plan at a glance
Ten immersive performance stops form a loop
The route introduced for the 2026 opening season began at Zhongmen (中门, Middle Gate), passed ten immersive performance stops, and followed a loop back to its endpoint. Nature and themed performances were woven together along the route. When the scenic area is open, use the route map and performance schedule provided for your visit.
Forest, wetlands, and volcanic rock are the main sights
Aolunbukan Scenic Area (奥伦布坎) is in the southern Greater Khingan forest region, with woodland, wetlands, and volcanic landforms. It lies in the Mo'er River basin (莫尔河流域). “Six Wonders of the Greater Khingan Range” is a broad regional label; plan around the individual sights open to visitors.
Combine nature walks with outdoor activities
For a relaxed visit, focus on the forest, wetlands, and volcanic scenery. If you want activity-based experiences, allow extra time for rafting, off-road rides, or animal encounters. A half day is more comfortable, as the total time depends on show schedules and queues for activities.

Choose your visit
Follow the new loop for the themed story
Follow the route markers from one story stop to the next, and note the start times for performances and interactions. If you do not plan to join every activity, choose the stops that interest you at the entrance, then continue around the loop to see the natural scenery without doubling back.
Flower-field rafting, UTV rides, and reindeer encounters
The 2026 opening-season report introduced flower-field rafting, UTV forest rides, and the Reindeer Fairy Park as options beyond the forest walk. Follow staff instructions for UTV rides. Follow the park's rules when interacting with or feeding reindeer.
Make time for a walk in the forest
You can enjoy the forest, streams, wetlands, and volcanic rock even if you skip rafting and UTV rides. If you prefer a slower pace, you do not need to fit every activity into a half-day visit; walking the open route and taking in the natural scenery is also a key part of Aolunbukan.
For a separate day among Arxan's crater lakes, gorges and forest trails, see Arxan National Forest Park.
Build your day
Follow the 2026 loop route
The route introduced for the 2026 opening season began at Zhongmen (中门, Middle Gate), continued through ten immersive performance stops, and returned along a loop. Use the route map issued for your visit, as entrances and performances may change between operating seasons.
Adjust your stops around performances and activities
If you also want to try rafting, a UTV ride, or a reindeer encounter, fit them into the loop where practical and allow extra time to queue and participate. If you are following only the themed route, slow down to enjoy the forest, streams, and volcanic landforms. Allow separate time for lunch and rest.
Plan Bailang Peak and other nearby stops separately
If you combine Aolunbukan with Bailang Peak or Bailang Town on a southern route, make Aolunbukan the main stop and plan the order around the locations. The summit visit and the Aolunbukan loop each take time; avoid turning both into rushed photo stops.
Get there
The entrance is near Wangyuanshan Forest Farm
The scenic area is south of Arxan in the Mo'er River basin, with its entrance around Wangyuanshan Forest Farm (望远山林场) and Highway S203. Drive yourself or hire a private car with a driver to the scenic-area entrance. Set the ticket-check entrance as your map destination so you do not mistake a nearby forest road for the visitor entrance.
Ask about parking and transfers when choosing how to get there
You can drive yourself from the city or hire a private car with a driver. There is no reliable public bus timetable to plan around. If you are not driving, ask your accommodation to arrange round-trip transport and agree on a pickup time after the visit.
Check park admission and activity ticket options separately
During the 2026 opening season, Tongcheng displayed adult tickets from CNY 60. This was a platform listing reference, not a standard price for every ticket type. Check whether your ticket includes the themed performances, in-park transfers, or extra activities. If rafting or UTV rides are sold separately, budget for the activity you choose.
Know before you go
Plan around the operating season
The scenic area reopened on May 29, 2026. As of October 2026, Ctrip listed it as temporarily closed with the reopening date undetermined, and showed a seasonal opening period from May 27 to October 7. Treat this as a platform reference. After mid-October and in winter, do not assume the summer loop is open.
Prepare for slippery trails and insects
The route includes woodland, boardwalks, and volcanic-rock paths. Wear shoes with good grip and bring drinking water. Summer forest areas can have many insects; bring repellent. Insect activity varies by season and location.
Check ticketing and payment options as an international visitor
Carry a passport or other valid travel document. Before your trip, check whether your passport can be used for online booking and entry verification. If the mini-program does not work for you, ask the ticket office, your accommodation, or a tour operator whether they can help with tickets, and confirm which payment methods are accepted. Follow signs for areas open to visitors.
