Plan at a glance
An indoor hot-spring experience
China Hot Spring Museum (中国温泉博物馆) is in the Haishen Shengquan Tourist Resort on Wenquan Street in Arxan. Navigate to the museum itself; it does not represent every hot spring in Arxan. Search the full venue name on maps and ticket sites. If you want to view the springs, swim, or soak, first check which area is open with your ticket type.
The 48 springs have different temperatures
Government information describes 48 natural springs in an area about 500 by 70 meters around the museum on Wenquan Street. Across Arxan, there are four spring groups with 76 springs in total. A local media introduction gives the museum-area springs a temperature range of 1.5°C to 48°C. Follow pool-side temperature signs; not every pool is suitable for a long soak.
Allow about half a day, depending on your ticket
China Hot Spring Museum combines mineral-spring displays with swimming and bathing experiences. A visit limited to the displays can be shorter. If you plan to swim and soak, allow about half a day for changing, breaks, and drinking water.

Choose your visit
Mineral-spring displays connect with bathing experiences
You can learn about the difference between hot and cold springs, then choose a visit, swimming, or bathing experience according to your ticket. The 48 natural springs in the museum area are a resource feature; they are not all open for bathing. Follow signs for the areas and pools open to visitors.
Check swimming and bathing ticket options separately
Different tickets cover different areas. If you do not plan to get in the water, check whether a Sightseeing admission ticket is available. For a Swimming ticket or Hot-spring bathing access, confirm which areas and dates are covered by the ticket type you choose.
Other bathhouses are listed on Wenquan Street
Wenquan Street also has a separate listing for Hot Spring Bathing Plaza (温泉洗浴广场), also described as Arxan Haishen Hot Spring Club (阿尔山海神温泉会馆). It is listed near the west entrance of Haishen Hot Spring Hotel. Check the current operating status and ticket options before visiting, and do not assume that its facilities or tickets are shared with China Hot Spring Museum.
For an outdoor day among Arxan's crater lakes and forest trails, see Arxan National Forest Park.
Build your day
If you are only sightseeing, focus on displays open to visitors
If you are only visiting the displays, start with how the natural springs form, the differences between hot and cold springs, and the spring features on display. If you also have swimming or bathing access, continue to the areas covered by your ticket. You do not need to seek out all 48 springs individually.
Combine sightseeing, swimming, and soaking at your own pace
With a combo ticket covering sightseeing, swimming, and hot-spring bathing, you can use each area included at your own pace. Leave time to rinse off, change, and rest. Pool temperatures vary; adjust gradually and leave the water if you feel unwell.
Schedule other city hot-spring stops separately
China Hot Spring Museum can be combined with Wenquan Street or Arxan Railway Station. Navigate separately to Wuliquan Spring (五里泉) and other springs in the forest area, and plan transport according to your accommodation and the actual entrance.
Get there
Navigate to the full museum name
Ctrip lists the address as inside Haishen Shengquan Tourist Resort on Wenquan Street; government information describes the area as Arxan Tourist Resort. Search for “中国温泉博物馆” (China Hot Spring Museum) and check the map pin. Searching only for “Arxan hot springs” may take you to another spring area, hotel, or bathing venue.
Check same-day transport from the station or your accommodation
From the railway station or city accommodation, choose a taxi, ride-hailing car, or walk based on your route on the map. In winter, allow for waiting and road conditions. If you plan to bathe in the evening, arrange your return ride in advance.
Ask what changing-room and equipment services are included
Equipment needs differ for visiting, swimming, and bathing. Before leaving, check whether swimsuits, swim caps, towels, and slippers should be brought, rented, or are included in the ticket. Ask about lockers, showers, and storage. If someone in your group will stay dry, check whether a Sightseeing admission ticket allows them to enter separately.
Know before you go
Treat platform prices as ticket references
As of October 20, 2026, the ticketing platform listed a Sightseeing admission ticket at CNY 88, a Swimming ticket at CNY 88, and an Adult combo ticket covering sightseeing, swimming, and hot-spring bathing at CNY 498. Prices, availability, and included areas can change. Check which sightseeing, swimming, and hot-spring bathing areas are open on your date; group and local household-registration discounts are only for eligible visitors.
Check seasonal opening hours
Ctrip information shows that opening hours may vary by season. Before buying, check the areas open that day and the last entry time. Plan your return around the separate operating arrangements for the museum, swimming pool, and bathing areas.
Entry documents and payment for international visitors
Carry a passport or other valid travel document. Before buying, check whether a passport can be used for online booking and entry verification. If the mini-program is not available to you, ask about buying on site and whether cash, bank cards, or other payment methods are accepted. Local household-registration discounts are only for eligible visitors. Take care when moving between pools of different temperatures, and watch for slippery floors.
