Location and opening
Qinglong Ancient Temple is at 8 Nandi Road, near the western end of Han River Bridge and northeast of Fengcheng Park. Enter from the Nandi Road main gate, or walk in from Fengcheng Park or the riverside promenade.
The temple is free and does not require a reservation. It is normally open from 08:00–20:00; crowds increase sharply during the Lunar New Year “Ying Da Lao Ye” temple festival.

About 1 hour: roof ceramics and river views
Enter through the main gate, visit the main hall and look up at the roof ceramics, then continue to the forecourt and Han River promenade.
About 1.5 hours: hall, corridors and old banyan
See the main hall’s gilded wood carving and embroidered ceremonial robes, walk the side corridors for smaller ceramic details, then visit the old banyan and riverside path.
Old city and riverside half-day route
Walk from Kaiyuan Temple through Paifang Street, Guangji Gate Tower and Guangji Bridge to Qinglong Ancient Temple. Stay for sunset, then continue along the riverside promenade.
Build your day
Use afternoon light for the roof
The roof ceramic work depicts figures and scenes from Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Investiture of the Gods. Light between 15:00 and 17:00 makes the broken-porcelain detail and colour easier to see.
Move to the river at sunset
The temple forecourt connects directly to the Han River walkway. From the old city, leave through Xiashuimen or Guangjimen and follow the riverbank rather than taking an inaccessible wall route.
Get there
From the old city and Chaoshan Station
From Chaoshan Station, use the K1 or K2 bus, or take a taxi to the old city and continue on foot along the river. Shared e-bikes are useful around the outer old city, but the riverfront itself is best explored on foot.
Driving and parking
Fengcheng Park Parking Lot costs about 6 CNY per visit and is around a five-minute walk away. There are public bays along the riverfront, but they fill quickly on public holidays.
Know before you go
Temple etiquette and incense
Keep quiet, do not step on thresholds, and do not point at deity statues. Incense is available inside the temple, so there is no need to buy expensive incense outside.
Photos and comfort
Do not photograph deity statues indoors; commercial photography should use designated areas. Wear comfortable shoes for the river walk. Early morning or after 16:00 is usually quieter, and the riverside can be kept for sunset.
