Plan Xiaodongjiang for early morning
April to October is better for mist, and 6:30-8:30 is usually the key viewing window.
Tip:This stop is mainly about timing. Visiting too late can turn it into a normal riverside walk.

Enter through Dongjiang Lake Visitor Center
Take scenic-area transport to the mist-viewing section after entering. Do not rely on driving around the riverside to find a position.

Walk between the main viewing platforms
Walk slowly along the riverside path, focusing on Viewing Platforms 2, 3, and 4. You do not need to stop for long at every point.
Tip:Moving gradually gives you more chances to catch changes in mist, light, and boat silhouettes.

Continue the Dongjiang Lake route after the mist
After the morning mist, return to the scenic transport stop and continue to Dongjiang Dam, Longjing Canyon, or a boat route.
Tip:Xiaodongjiang works best as the opening section of the day rather than the only plan if you have a full day.
