Jiushan Cave is inside Jiushan National Forest Park in Yanjian Town, Fengyang. The cave stays around 16–18°C year-round, making it a useful summer escape as well as a place to see stalactites, stone waterfalls, and flowstone curtains. The main entrance is close to the visitor center and car park. The cave visit takes about 40–60 minutes; the full outing takes about 1.5–3 hours.
Tickets and opening
Adult admission is CNY 50. Students, visitors under 18, and visitors aged 60–64 receive half-price admission of CNY 25 with valid proof. Military personnel, visitors with disabilities, and visitors aged 65 or over enter free. No reservation is normally required; tickets are available on site or through booking platforms. From March to October, reference hours are 08:00–17:00; from November to February, 08:00–16:30. Entry stops after 16:30.
Who it suits
Jiushan Cave suits visitors who enjoy caves, a short water-based experience, and natural-history details, as well as families who want a half-day visit. The cave floor can be wet and slippery, while the path and climb after exiting require more energy. Plan the return according to the route open on the day.
Look at the return as well as the cave
The cave itself is not very long, but the hillside path after exiting changes the total time. Treat the 40–60 minute cave visit as the fixed core, then decide based on the group's stamina whether to take the sightseeing vehicle or continue on foot. Older visitors, children, and anyone sensitive to cold should not estimate the half-day only from the cave time.

Cave scenery and the underground river
Inside, look for stalactites, stalagmites, stone waterfalls, flowstone curtains, and stone flowers; coloured lighting changes the visual effect. At the underground river, Yuxi Fanzhou (玉溪泛舟) is a very short underground-river boat ride, with a reference boat ticket of CNY 1. The cave also retains historic footpaths associated with the Southern Song resistance against the Jin and Zhu Yuanzhang's troop stationing; notice these human-history traces as you pass.
The short and full versions
If you mainly want the cave's core scenery, make the cave section about one hour and complete the return only along the one-way route open that day. For the full experience, include the sightseeing vehicle and the walk toward the car park after exiting. The vehicle is approximately CNY 10 by reference, reaches only halfway up the slope, and is followed by about 20 minutes of walking to the car park.

The 1.5–3 hour full route
Enter through the main entrance and spend about 40–60 minutes walking through the cave. Take the short boat ride at the underground river, then follow the on-site one-way signs toward the sightseeing-vehicle stop. After riding to the mid-slope point, walk about 20 minutes back to the car park. Include the slope after exiting in the return plan.
The approximately one-hour short route
Enter through the main entrance, follow the cave route through the core scenery to the boat point, and complete the return according to that day's signs. The direction around the boat point and exit may be affected by on-site management, so follow the open route. Unofficial rear exits, reverse travel, and routes around managed areas are not part of the plan.
Confirm the return in sections
After exiting, first confirm whether the sightseeing vehicle reaches the mid-slope point and how much walking remains toward the car park, then decide whether to board. The vehicle only removes one section of the hillside and cannot replace the approximately 20-minute walk between the mid-slope point and the car park. If you stay on foot, follow the one-way route and keep energy for the slope.
Get there
Bus and self-drive
After reaching Fengyang from Bengbu South Railway Station, take a taxi to Jiushan Cave; the reference journey is about 40–50 minutes. Fengyang Old Bus Station commonly has a direct service toward the scenic area at 08:30, with a 13:30 return and a reference fare of about CNY 7. Missing the bus may mean waiting more than 1.5 hours. If the timetable does not fit, a taxi or self-drive gives the return more control.
Parking and internal transport
Navigate to “Fengyang Jiushan Cave.” Reference parking is CNY 5–10 per visit, and the main entrance is close to the visitor center and car park. The sightseeing vehicle reaches only the mid-slope point; after riding, you still walk about 20 minutes to the car park. It covers one hillside section only.

The current basic arrangement is CNY 50 adult admission, with half-price or free entry for some groups, and tickets bought on site or through a platform. The boat, about CNY 1, and sightseeing vehicle, about CNY 10, are variable on-site extras; confirm each separately when buying. The cave stays around 16–18°C, so carry a light layer in summer and wear non-slip shoes on wet ground.
Return safely
The difficult part of the full route is the slope and walking return after the cave. Companions should watch older visitors and children. Walk between the boat point, cave exit, and sightseeing-vehicle stop according to the day's one-way route. Unofficial rear exits, reverse travel, and routes around managed areas are excluded.
Conditions inside the cave
The cave is around 16–18°C year-round; even in summer, a light jacket is useful. Water vapour is present around the formations, and wet floors require slower steps. Bats and cave smells are part of the natural environment but are not guaranteed on every visit. Anyone sensitive to darkness, dampness, or confined spaces should decide at the entrance whether to take only the short route.
Combining it with nearby attractions
Langxiang Migu and Jiushan Cave are relatively close, but the two have separate tickets, entrances, and route demands. If visiting both on one day, decide the end time of the first stop around the bus or self-drive schedule before going to the second. Do not compress the cave visit and the post-cave climb into the same small time block.
