Chuzhou Museum is at 99 Longpan Avenue in Nanqiao District, next to Chuzhou Science and Technology Museum in the same government-center area. Basic admission is free. Opening and entry

Nature on the first floor, history on the second
The Natural Features exhibition covers Chuzhou's karst landscapes, volcanoes, wetlands, and related natural themes. The History and Culture exhibition on the second floor follows local history from ancient times to the modern period. Look for the Qing Kangxi blue-and-white General's Jar featuring Zuiweng Ting Ji (《醉翁亭记》), a Han-dynasty bronze yan (甗), a steamer-shaped vessel with a spout, and a Yuan dynasty set of long-necked bottles with underglaze brown decoration on qingbai porcelain.
Two ways to set your focus
For a broad introduction to the city, go from the first floor to the second. With limited time, start upstairs with the history exhibition and representative objects, then return to the natural-history displays. The entrance hall has the roughly 12-metre-high Jianghuai Style marble relief, and the second floor has a reconstructed Zuiweng Pavilion-themed scene for a short pause.
Choosing representative objects
On the second floor, prioritize the Qing Kangxi blue-and-white General's Jar featuring Zuiweng Ting Ji (《醉翁亭记》), the Han bronze yan (甗), a steamer-shaped vessel with a spout, and the Yuan qingbai-glazed, brown-decorated long-necked bottle set. These are practical priorities when time is limited. On the first floor, families and rainy-day visitors can slow down and choose sections on karst, volcanoes, or wetlands.

Full museum route
Enter through the main door, visit the Natural Features exhibition on the first floor, then go upstairs to the History and Culture exhibition. Follow the displays to the representative objects and leave through the exit. Allow about 1.5–2 hours. In the afternoon, enter the main galleries before the 16:30 last-entry time, and follow any same-day clearing instructions if an activity changes the schedule.
When time is tight
For a one-hour visit, go directly to the second-floor History and Culture exhibition, see the local-history displays and representative objects, and then return to the first-floor natural exhibition. The third-floor art-gallery programme changes, so treat the first two floors as the main route.
Family and rainy-day pacing
With children, use the first-floor natural exhibition as an introduction and finish with a few representative objects on the second floor. If the children tire, pause at the entrance-hall relief before leaving. On a rainy day, complete the main first- and second-floor route first, then use the on-site information to decide whether to continue upstairs.
Get there
Bus and navigation
Take bus K1, 2, 5, 6, or 25 to the “Government Center” stop and enter through the museum's main door. Drivers can navigate to “Chuzhou Museum”; free parking is available. In the government-center area, confirm the exact arrival point with the driver or navigation app.
Rail transit
Take the Ningchu Line to Chuzhou Government Center Station. Leave through Exit 1 and walk about 700 metres to the museum's main entrance. The line runs roughly from 06:30 to 21:30 each day, with trains about 15 minutes apart, and fares of CNY 2–8. You can use a Chuzhou single-ride ticket, the Nanjing Metro QR code, the Alipay transit QR code, or a transit card marked “Transportation Union.”

Free entry and timing
Basic admission is normally free and does not usually require a reservation. Visitors carrying a passport or another non-Chinese resident identity document can ask at the entrance about that day's document-check procedure. The museum is closed on Mondays; from Tuesday to Sunday, last entry is at 16:30, and public-holiday arrangements follow the current announcement. Plan the afternoon around the main first- and second-floor route.
Exhibitions, parking, and food
The third-floor exhibition schedule may be empty or change temporarily, while the first and second floors are the main visit. Free parking is available, and the government-center area has simple meals and snacks nearby. If you arrive in the afternoon, eat before entering so the 16:30 last-entry time does not shorten the main visit.
Leaving and nearby stops
Leave through the main entrance. If you plan to continue to the government center or Science and Technology Museum, check their same-day opening arrangements separately; the third-floor exhibition is not a fixed part of the museum route.
