Plan at a glance

A free harbor district

Fisherman’s Wharf is an open harbor district at No. 66-2 Binhai East Road, Zhongshan District, Dalian. Entry is free and no reservation is required. The district has colorful buildings, fishing boats and yachts at anchor, a waterfront path and permanent dining venues. Each business sets its own hours; there is no single opening time for the whole district.

Allow about 1–2 hours to walk around, take photos and rest. For a panoramic view from across the water, go to Lingjiao Bay, a separate destination outside this walking route.

Parking and business hours

The indicative parking charge is CNY 5 for the first hour and CNY 2 for each additional hour. Spaces can be limited in peak season. Businesses generally operate from daytime into the evening, but restaurants, cafés and shops each have their own hours.

Colorful streets and harbor views

The harbor area has colorful buildings, fishing boats and yachts at anchor, as well as a red lighthouse, cafés and bookshops. The waterfront path offers close views of the harbor and buildings. The number of boats, gull activity and the timing of fishing boats returning to port vary from day to day.

A walking order within the district

From the harbor entrance, walk through the colorful streets, then follow the waterfront path to see the harbor and boats at anchor. Continue to the red lighthouse. Before leaving, rest at a café, bookshop or restaurant in the district, then return along the street to the entrance. Each business keeps its own hours.

For a separate marine-park visit across the bay, see Laohutan Ocean Park.

Build your day

One- to two-hour harbor walk

From Hutan Xinqu (虎滩新区) Station or the bus stop named “Fisherman’s Wharf Station,” walk to the harbor district. Follow the waterfront to the red lighthouse, then return to the entrance; stop at an open café or restaurant if you want a break. Allow about 1–2 hours.

Get there

Metro and buses

Take Metro Line 5 to Hutan Xinqu Station. From Exit D, walk about 5–10 minutes to the harbor district. Buses 2 and 712 stop at “Fisherman’s Wharf Station”; from there, enter the open district at No. 66-2 Binhai East Road.

Parking

Navigate to “Fisherman’s Wharf Parking Lot.” The indicative charge is CNY 5 for the first hour and CNY 2 per additional hour. Spaces can be limited in peak season. Use the signed entrances and exits for the parking lot and waterfront path; do not drive into the fishing-boat work area.

Know before you go

Harbor walks and places to rest

Boats may be moored in the harbor; view them from the open path. Cafés, bookshops and restaurants operate independently. If you plan to rest or eat at the end of your walk, choose from the businesses open that day.

Lingjiao Bay, Shicao and Amber Bay are separate destinations. Plan transport and visit time for each separately instead of combining them with the short harbor walk.
