Plan at a glance

A free waterfront park with separately ticketed activities

Xinghai Park is at No. 634 Zhongshan Road, Shahekou District. This free waterfront park is open all day and does not require a reservation. Its coastal paths and boardwalk are good for a walk by the sea. Rides, bungee jumping and other operated activities inside the park require separate tickets; free park entry does not include them.

Allow about 3–4 hours for a coastal walk plus one ride. If you have only 1–2 hours, focus on the shoreline or one paid activity. Rides generally operate around 09:00–21:00, with seasonal changes; seafront activities may also depend on that day’s operations.

Transport and main areas

The main entrance is near Zhongshan Road and Dalian Medical University Second Hospital Station. The amusement area and bungee-jumping area are near the entrance. Sunasia Ocean World is inside the park but has separate admission; see its page for entry, the pavilion route and shows.

Choose your visit

Seaside walks and rides

The free areas are mainly for coastal walks, the seaside boardwalk and views over the water. The Ferris wheel, roller coasters and pirate ship are separately ticketed rides. Bungee jumping over the sea is another separately ticketed activity, subject to height, weight and weather restrictions set by the operator.

Choose activities for your group and schedule

For a relaxed visit, stay by the sea and walk the boardwalk. If children or other companions enjoy rides, consider the Ferris wheel or another activity that is open that day and suits their height. Before choosing bungee jumping, confirm its price and height, weight and weather restrictions; do not assume every visitor can take part.

Sunasia Ocean World is inside the park and suits visitors planning an indoor marine-life exhibit. It requires a separate ticket, with one entry per pavilion.

Build your day

Three to four hours: coast plus one activity

Enter from Zhongshan Road and walk along the coast or boardwalk. Then return to the amusement area and choose one activity—the Ferris wheel, roller coaster, pirate ship or bungee jumping—before leaving through a park exit. Allow about 3–4 hours. Ride tickets are sold separately; check the posted price at the ticket point.

One to two hours: free coastal walk

Enter through the main gate, walk along the coast and boardwalk, then leave near Sunasia. Allow about 1–2 hours. Rides such as the Ferris wheel can be an optional extra if operating that day, but the short route does not depend on them. Sunasia requires a separate ticket and additional time inside.

Continue to Xinghai Square outside the park

Xinghai Square is outside the park, about a 15–20-minute walk away. If you plan to visit the Centennial Sculpture or attend an activity at the square afterward, count this walk as a transfer after leaving the park; it is not part of the park’s 1–2-hour or 3–4-hour route. Plan the square visit separately using its own page.

Get there

Metro and buses

Take Metro Line 1 to Dalian Medical University Second Hospital Station and walk about 10 minutes to the park’s main area. Buses 22, 23, 28, 49, 406, 531 and 901 stop at “Xinghai Park” or “Medical University Second Hospital.” Enter from the gate by Zhongshan Road to reach the amusement and bungee-jumping areas first.

Know before you go

Tickets, weather and safety

Park entry is free, but rides and bungee jumping cost extra. Rides are listed at about CNY 30 each. Confirm the bungee price and its height, weight and weather restrictions at the ticket point before deciding whether to take part.

The sun can be strong by the sea, so use sun protection in summer. The park can be crowded on public holidays; keep an eye on your belongings. Waves, weather and operating conditions may affect water activities. Avoid offers from people soliciting at the shore unless you can verify the operator and ticket point.
