Plan at a glance
A separately ticketed aquarium inside Xinghai Park
Sunasia Ocean World is at No. 608-6-8 Zhongshan Road, Shahekou District, within Xinghai Park. Admission requires a separate Sunasia ticket. The aquarium and its ticketing are independent of the park, so you can continue walking along the park’s coast after leaving Sunasia; the park’s coastal paths and separately ticketed activities are not included in the aquarium ticket.
Allow about four hours for the four-venue route. If you visit only Marine World and Polar World, allow 2–3 hours. An adult four-venue ticket is listed at CNY 170–220. Children under 1.3 meters or under six years old may qualify for free admission; real-name booking requirements depend on the ticket type.
Opening hours and ticket types
The usual opening window is 09:00–17:00, with seasonal changes. Check the ticket information for your visit date for the applicable opening time. A common four-venue ticket includes Marine World, Polar World, Coral World and Galaxy Star Sea (银河星海). Some five-attraction ticket packages add HOLY HIGH (厉害塔) to the four main venues, with an indicative surcharge of CNY 60. Check the exact package inclusions and price before booking.

Choose your visit
Underwater tunnel and coral exhibits
Marine World has a 118-meter underwater tunnel that you can walk through more than once during the same visit inside the pavilion. Its aquarium exhibits offer views of fish and the underwater passage. Coral World displays corals and other marine life; the jellyfish area is dimly lit and suited to close-up viewing and photography.
Polar animals and featured shows
Polar World features beluga whales, dolphins and other marine and polar-themed exhibits. Sunasia’s featured performances include “Love in Dolphin Bay” (《海豚湾之恋》), “Sea Lion Show” (《海狮嗨秀》) and “Legend of the Beluga” (《白鲸传奇》), descriptive English translations of the Chinese titles. The venue, showtimes and operating status may vary by date; check the official program for your visit and do not assume a fixed route will let you see every show. Galaxy Star Sea is also listed among the four venues, but check which animal exhibits are open that day.
If you enjoy aquariums, make the underwater tunnel and jellyfish area priorities. Families can choose animal exhibits and shows based on children’s interests. Large-animal activity varies, so a particular movement or performance is not guaranteed.
Build your day
Four-hour route: visit the pavilions in order
Enter through the main gate and visit Coral World → Marine World → Polar World → Galaxy Star Sea, allowing about four hours. Each pavilion allows one entry per ticket check. Take care of water, restrooms and photos before entering; once you leave the final pavilion, the aquarium visit is over.
Two- to three-hour short route: Marine World and Polar World
If you have less time, start at Marine World for the underwater tunnel, then visit Polar World for the animals and any show scheduled that day. Allow about 2–3 hours. This route leaves out Coral World and Galaxy Star Sea; you cannot re-enter a pavilion after leaving it.
Adjust the order to the day’s show schedule
Check the official show schedule after entering and adjust the order of the venues around performances confirmed for that day. Show venues, times and operating status can change, so do not assume every featured performance will be available.
Get there
Metro, buses and the main entrance
Take Metro Line 1 to Dalian Medical University Second Hospital Station and walk about 10 minutes to the main entrance. Buses 16, 22, 23, 28, 37, 49, 202, 406, 531 and 901 stop at “Medical University Second Hospital.” The main entrance is near Polar World; the four-venue route begins at Coral World.
Know before you go
One entry per pavilion
Each pavilion allows one entry per ticket check, and you cannot re-enter after leaving. The underwater tunnel can be walked through repeatedly while you remain inside Marine World. Plan the four-venue route as one continuous visit.
HOLY HIGH (厉害塔), included with some five-venue tickets, requires climbing stairs and may not suit every visitor. Prices and opening arrangements vary by season and ticket type, so check which venues are included before buying. The activity of large animals can also vary.
Where to go after leaving
After Sunasia, you can continue exploring Xinghai Park. Xinghai Square is about a 10–15-minute walk away; its Centennial Sculpture, fountain and coastal paths are covered on the square’s page. Xinghai Park and Xinghai Square are separate stops for later in your day and do not require the Sunasia five-venue ticket.
