Plan at a glance
A ticketed theme park
Haichang Discoveryland Theme Park is at No. 36 Jinshi Road in Jinshitan National Tourist Resort. Admission requires a ticket. Indicative prices are CNY 160–180 for an adult all-day ticket and CNY 99–129 for a student ticket. Children’s ticket prices and eligibility vary by product and promotion; check the terms for the exact ticket you plan to buy.
Allow 4–5 hours to focus on a few popular rides. To cover several themed areas, shows and a night program, allow 8–10 hours. Night programs run only on some operating dates; add the parade or fireworks only if they appear on that day’s schedule.
Check opening hours for your visit date
Opening, last-entry and night-program times vary by date. Before buying a ticket, check the official opening and show schedule for your selected date.

Roller coasters and water rides
The best-known roller coasters include Crazy Cobra (疯狂眼镜蛇), Thunderchariot (雷霆战车) and Dizzy Love & Whirling Passion (天旋地恋). Big Water Splash and Amazon River Rapids are water rides where you may get wet. Height, health and weather restrictions vary by ride; check the rules at each ride entrance after purchasing your ticket.
Family area and evening shows
Cool World has a carousel, bumper cars and a small train. Families with younger children can check which rides in this area are open; height, health and weather restrictions are set for each ride. The park also schedules stunt shows, magic acts, parades and fireworks at night, but the program and showtimes vary by operating date.
For a separate coastal-geology route in the resort, see Dalian Coastal National Geopark.
Build your day
Four- to five-hour daytime short route
After entering, start with Crazy Cobra, then choose from the popular rides Thunderchariot and Dizzy Love & Whirling Passion. In the afternoon, pick either Big Water Splash or Amazon River Rapids, then leave. Allow 4–5 hours. Queues for popular rides may exceed an hour, so prioritize the rides you most want to experience.
This short route is planned for daytime and does not include a parade or fireworks. If there is a night program on your date and you want to see it, add the extra time and use the full-day plan.
Eight to ten hours: only with a night program and a return plan
Consider this 8–10-hour route only after confirming a night program for your date and arranging transport out of the park. From the entrance, turn right and follow the lake counterclockwise. Prioritize popular roller coasters in the morning, then fit in a stunt show, magic act or one water ride in the afternoon. In the evening, spend time around the carousel and Ferris wheel before choosing a parade, stage show or fireworks from that day’s program.
Parades, stage shows and fireworks depend on the day’s schedule; there may be no night program on weekdays or in some seasons. The last shuttle after the park closes and the last train from Jinshitan toward downtown have not been confirmed. Until you have exact times, do not rely on public transport after the fireworks; arrange another way back in advance.
Get there
Metro and shuttle bus
Take Dalian Metro Line 3 to Jinshitan Station. Turn right after exiting and take the shuttle bus marked for Discoveryland; the ride takes about 10 minutes. Check the current fare through the on-site or official ticket information for your visit date. The shuttle drops passengers near the park’s entrance plaza. For the return trip, check the train schedule from Jinshitan toward downtown; the last train in the outbound direction is not the return timetable.
Parking
The park has a parking lot, with an indicative charge of CNY 10 per visit. Roads and parking around Jinshitan can be busy in peak season. The last shuttle after the night program and the last train from Jinshitan toward downtown are unconfirmed; do not plan a night visit around catching public transport unless you have confirmed the connections.
Know before you go
Tickets, identification and ride restrictions
Some ticket products offer direct purchase and entry. Reservation requirements, accepted purchase documents and gate-check rules depend on the product and the park. It is not confirmed whether a foreign passport can be used to buy a ticket directly, whether advance booking is required or how the passport is checked; visitors using foreign documents should confirm with the park before setting out. Check children’s ticket eligibility separately from ride-access requirements; do not assume the height range for one ticket applies to every child ticket or guarantees ride access.
VR experiences, haunted houses, go-karts and some interactive shows cost extra, with indicative prices of CNY 30–50. Drinks inside the park start at about CNY 15. Check the current rules at the entrance before bringing in water or snacks.
Nearby destinations
Jinshitan Coastal National Geopark and Golden Coast are separate destinations with their own visit time. Do not combine them with Discoveryland’s 8–10-hour full-day route as a half-day plan.
