Treat the waterfall as the center of Furong Town
Furong Town Waterfall is not a separate nature stop far from the old town. It sits inside the main scenic route.
See the water by day and the lights by night
Daytime is better for the waterfall itself, the path behind it, and the spray. Night is better for the lights, stilted houses, and waterfall in the same frame.
Move slowly on the path behind the waterfall
The area around the waterfall is humid, and the ground can be slippery. Do not walk while turning around for photos, and do not stop too long in narrow places.
Expect a big difference between wet and dry periods
Around June to September, the waterfall is usually fuller and more powerful. In autumn, winter, or drier periods, the flow may be smaller.
Do not wait at only one viewpoint
Tuwang Palace is good for a wider old-town and waterfall view. The waterfall viewing platform works for closer shots. Tingtao Road or opposite-bank angles can be better for night views.
