Enter Dajue Mountain first
The formal Chinese name of this attraction is “Cliff Motor Train” (悬崖动车). It is inside Dajue Mountain Scenic Area and has no separate entrance. First enter through the Dajue Mountain visitor center, take the sightseeing shuttle to Dajue Mountain Ancient Town, and then change to the cable car for the Cliff Train Terminal halfway up the mountain.
The line and its timing
The track is about 13.14 km long and runs along mountain walls at elevations of roughly 850–1,150 m. Riding the train through for sightseeing takes about 1.5 hours; including scenic-area admission, the shuttle, cable car, and waiting time, allow at least 3–4 hours. If you get off at Tianjie Station for Nantianmen and Dajue Rock Temple, allow 4–5 hours.
Tickets and operations
The current reference prices are about CNY 60 per person for Dajue Mountain admission and CNY 80–128 per person for the Cliff Train. Check separately whether a package includes the sightseeing shuttle, cable car, and train. The ride usually follows the scenic area's 08:00–17:30 operating period, but rain, snow, and strong winds may affect the cable car and train.

Choosing among the four stations
Die Lian Hua Station (蝶恋花站) is suited to flower views and train photographs. Caidangqiao Station (彩荡桥站) is higher and looks over the mountains. Tianjie Station (天街站) connects with an old-style street and is the walking entrance to Nantianmen and Dajue Rock Temple. The Cliff Train Terminal is the transfer hub for the cable car and Cliff Flying Car, so it can serve as the boarding and return point when time is tight.
Through-riding or getting off for the historic sights
Visitors who mainly want to watch the train run along the cliff and keep walking to a minimum can ride through without getting off at an intermediate station. For the mountain-top cultural sights, get off at Tianjie Station, walk to Nantianmen and Dajue Rock Temple, and then use a later service back to the terminal according to the day's operations.
Who it suits
The Cliff Train suits visitors who want high mountain views without a continuous uphill climb, as well as photographers and families with children. The train and the valleys along the line are both part of the experience. The high-altitude setting may be uncomfortable for visitors with severe acrophobia, cardiovascular conditions, or high blood pressure; choose the ride with those conditions in mind.

A 3–4-hour complete sightseeing route
Enter at the visitor center, take the shuttle to the ancient town, and change to the cable car uphill. Board the Cliff Train at the terminal and ride through for about 90 minutes, then return to the cable car according to the day's arrangements and descend. This route does not get off at intermediate stations, so it uses less physical effort; most of the time goes to the three transport changes and the train ride.
A 4–5-hour Tianjie historic route
Complete the visitor-center, ancient-town, cable-car, and terminal transfers, then ride to Tianjie Station and get off. Walk to Nantianmen and Dajue Rock Temple, return to Tianjie Station, and take a later service onward or back to the terminal before descending by cable car. Treat the walk after Tianjie separately from the train schedule; confirm the next train and cable car before beginning the return.
A one-day combined route
If you also want the Cliff Flying Car and rafting, use the sequence visitor center → ancient town → cable car → Cliff Train → Cliff Flying Car downhill → rafting → change clothes at the ancient town → sightseeing shuttle back. This puts high-altitude transport, mountain activities, and a water activity into one day, so choose between intermediate stops and the Tianjie visit according to the time remaining.
Photography at the stations
Waiting at an open station or designated viewpoint for the train to round a bend is safer than moving around repeatedly inside the carriage. Follow the day's rules for photography inside the train. Whether windows can be opened, which carriages are suitable for photographs, and how long the train stops at each station all depend on the operating arrangement.
Get there
From Fuzhou Railway Station
The passenger center beside Fuzhou Railway Station has buses to Dajue Mountain, but departures are limited. A taxi or shared ride to the scenic area takes about 1.5 hours and offers more flexible connections. Drivers should navigate to the Dajue Mountain Visitor Center, enter the scenic area there, and then follow the shuttle → ancient town → cable car transfer sequence.
Parking and connections with central Fuzhou
Parking charges and package arrangements at Dajue Mountain may change; use the standard displayed on site that day. The scenic area is about 100 km from Wenchangli, Tang Xianzu Memorial Museum, and other central Fuzhou cultural sights, so the Cliff Train is not a practical add-on to a half-day city walk.

The CNY 80–128 reference price for the Cliff Train does not necessarily include the cable car, sightseeing shuttle, or main admission. Product combinations vary. Compare admission, shuttle, cable car, and train line by line before buying; the price for separate on-site purchases may also change.
Weather and the high-altitude setting
The train, cable car, and flying car are all affected by wind and rain, and may stop in rain, snow, or strong winds. Call 0794-5796906 before leaving to confirm operations. The track runs close to the cliff, with wide views outside the windows; visitors with acrophobia, cardiovascular conditions, or high blood pressure should ride cautiously.
Walking and supplies
The through-riding route involves little walking, but after admission you still have to transfer between the shuttle, cable car, and train. The Tianjie historic route adds a walk to Nantianmen and Dajue Rock Temple. Food choices in the scenic area are limited, so carry a small amount of water and snacks; for a longer combined day, plan supplies and the descent together.
