Wusute Water Yadan Geopark

Set out from Golmud or Dachaidan with fuel and supplies

No direct metro, and there is no practical direct public transport for independent visitors. Fill the vehicle, download offline maps, then drive or hire a car from Golmud or Dachaidan to Wusute Water Yadan Geopark. The long approach follows G315, with long gaps between fuel, food, and parking facilities.

Park at the visitor center and arrange entry plus the sightseeing bus

Use the scenic-area car park, buy admission and sightseeing-bus tickets, then enter the core area on the bus. Seasonal arrangements apply, so start early enough to complete the main stops and return to the visitor center in daylight.

Ride first to Wanghaitai for the broadest view

Go first to Wanghaitai to see the water yadan formations from above, then decide whether to continue deeper. This is a useful orientation stop. In calmer conditions and softer light, allow 30-45 minutes for wide views and closer photographs.

Choose whether to continue to the Eye of Yadan

If you have enough time and energy, continue from Wanghaitai toward the Eye of Yadan on foot or by approved in-park transport. The research route places it about 2.2 km one way from the main stop, with a walk of roughly 40 minutes. Allow for the return walk and the remaining scenic-bus stops.

Visit West Sea Fleet and Golden Beach on the return route

Rejoin the sightseeing-bus route, choose West Sea Fleet and Golden Beach according to the remaining time, then return to the visitor center. West Sea Fleet is suited to viewing dense yadan silhouettes; Golden Beach works well as an evening stop. Bring your own water and snacks because food choices inside are limited.
