Bao Gong Temple and its history

Fuzhuang sits beside the waters of Baohe and includes Huizhou-style gardens, covered corridors, and a stone boat. Qingfeng Pavilion stands on higher ground in the park; when weather and access allow, it offers views toward Baohe and old Hefei. The tomb chamber and related objects at Bao Gong Tomb can be visited when the area is open; whether the underground chamber can be entered must be checked on arrival.

History-focused visitors can prioritise Bao Gong Temple and Bao Gong Tomb. Visitors who prefer an urban walk can spend more time around Fuzhuang and the water gardens. For photography, look at the red walls of Bao Gong Temple and the architectural details around Fuzhuang’s corridors and stone boat. Access to Qingfeng Pavilion and evening opening at Fuzhuang can change by date, so afternoon and evening visitors should check the day’s hours.

A 1–1.5 hour route
Enter through the South Gate and visit the main hall, Bao Gong statue, the three ceremonial execution blades associated with Bao Gong, and Lianquan Well. Then continue to Qingfeng Pavilion across the way. If the elevator is operating, it can take you to the fifth-floor observation deck; if the elevator or deck is closed, visit the main pavilion and return by the same route.
A 2.5–3 hour full route
Enter from the South Gate and visit Bao Gong Temple, Fuzhuang, Qingfeng Pavilion, and Bao Gong Tomb in that order, then leave through the East Gate. If the path toward the East Gate or the tomb chamber is restricted that day, return by the original route. Evening access at Fuzhuang, the Qingfeng Pavilion elevator, and the Bao Gong Tomb chamber can all change, so adjust the full route to the day’s arrangements.
Movement and pacing
The South Gate is close to Bao Gong Temple and Fuzhuang, while the East Gate works as the end point for the longer route. The park is fairly large, so you can enter from the South Gate and leave through the East Gate, or return the same way. Bao Gong Temple, Fuzhuang, Qingfeng Pavilion, and Bao Gong Tomb can be visited consecutively along the park paths.
Get there
Metro and bus
Take Metro Line 1 to Bao Park Station (包公园站), leave through Exit D, and walk about 3–5 minutes to the park entrance area. Buses 6, 11, 119, and 154 stop at Bao Park Station.
Driving and parking
If driving, navigate to the Bao Park ground-level car park. Spaces are limited on weekends and public holidays, so the metro is the better option at busy times; use the official park parking area and follow the day’s on-site directions.

The Qingfeng Pavilion elevator, observation deck, evening areas at Fuzhuang, and Bao Gong Tomb chamber may each have different opening arrangements. Photography rules for indoor displays and park buildings follow the signs on site, and indoor areas may restrict photography.
Food and return journey
Food options inside the park are limited; after a full route, you can leave from the East Gate and eat at a nearby shopping centre. Roads and parking around the park are often crowded on weekends, so the metro is the more practical way to travel there and back.
