Three Kingdoms remains and lake views
The Zhang Liao statue, Zhang Liao Tomb, and Three Kingdoms History and Culture Museum form the main historical cluster in the park. You can start with the Xiaoyaojin history, then walk by the lake toward Xiaoyao Pavilion and Lake Island. Xiaoyao Pavilion is one of the higher points in the park, and its architecture works well with the lake views; access to the upper levels depends on the arrangements on the day.
Quzhuang, the amusement area, and evening walks
Quzhuang preserves Huizhou-style architecture and can be combined with the lake and bridges. The elephant slide in the amusement area carries memories for many Hefei residents; the opening and charges for swings, carousels, and other facilities may differ, so look at each attraction’s arrangements when you arrive. After dusk, Xiaoyao Pavilion, the pavilions, and bridges may have a different lighting effect, but evening attractions and lighting may vary by day.
Choosing by interest
History enthusiasts can start with the Zhang Liao sites and the Three Kingdoms History and Culture Museum. City walkers can follow the lake to Xiaoyao Pavilion, Lake Island, and Quzhuang. Families can leave time for the amusement area after the historical section. For photos, look at Xiaoyao Pavilion with the lake, the elephant slide, the replica ancient warship by the lake, and the tree framed by a circular window near the amusement area; access to particular spots depends on what is open when you visit.

A 1–1.5 hour quick route
Enter through the South Gate, see the Zhang Liao statue and Zhang Liao Tomb first, then walk to the Xiaoyao Pavilion and Lake Island area. Finish near the amusement area with the elephant slide and surrounding views, and leave through the West Gate or South Gate depending on the route. If you want to focus on the history, skip the rides; if the upper part of Xiaoyao Pavilion is closed, view the building and water from the lakeside instead.
A 2–3 hour full route
Enter through the South Gate, visit Zhang Liao Tomb and the Three Kingdoms History and Culture Museum, then walk along the lake past Xiaoyao Pavilion and Lake Island. Continue to the amusement area and Quzhuang. The Three Kingdoms History and Culture Museum usually charges separately, and the amusement facilities are not included in free park entry; decide whether to enter and how long to stay according to the day’s opening arrangements and your group’s interests, then leave through the South Gate or the nearest exit.
Walking pace and evening plans
The park is mainly explored on foot, so allow real walking time between the historical area, lake, and amusement area. If you want both daytime lake views and evening lights, arriving around 16:00 works well; evening lighting, pavilion access, and temporary activities may vary by day, so check what is available when you arrive. After leaving, you can continue to Huaihe Road Pedestrian Street, with Mingjiao Temple also within the old-city walking area. Bao Park requires separate bus or short-distance transport.

Metro and bus
Take Metro Line 1 to Dadongmen Station or Bao Park Station, leave through Exit D, and walk about 5–10 minutes to the park area. You can also take buses 2, 15, 106, or 137 to Xiaoyaojin stop. There are several entrances, so after leaving the station decide whether the South Gate or West Gate fits your route before entering the park.
Driving and parking
Parking around the park is tight on weekends and public holidays, so metro or bus is usually easier. If driving, use designated parking areas and follow the on-site directions; roadside stopping and shopping-centre parking may not be convenient at peak times. If you plan to stay into the evening, allow extra time to leave.

If you prefer a complete exhibition venue or a refined classical garden, it may work better as one stop on an old-city walk than as a long standalone visit.
Nearby stops and return journey
The West Gate area connects with Huaihe Road Pedestrian Street, and Mingjiao Temple can be another stop on an old-city walk. Bao Park is farther away and is better reached by bus or taxi. Evening transport and parking can be affected by visitor numbers, so make sure you know how you are getting to your next stop before leaving.
