Architecture, the memorial tower, and outdoor sculpture groups
The main hall uses warship forms as its architectural theme, with two sloping structures connected to the historical context of 1949. The outdoor Victory Tower is about 99 metres high and forms a five-pointed star when viewed from above. The General Front Committee sculpture group, Victory Tower, and the water in front of the main hall can be viewed along the axis from the South Gate, making a natural introduction before you enter the exhibitions.
The basic exhibition and optional experiences
The main hall’s principal exhibition is the “Million-Strong Army Crossing the Yangtze” basic exhibition, arranged around the pre-war situation, preparations for the campaign, the breakthrough of the river defences, civilian support, and the achievements of martyrs across six exhibition areas. The indoor “Army of Victory” sculpture group is another major point. The 270° panoramic painting gallery and 4D cinema charge separately and can be chosen according to interest; they are not included with free admission.
Choosing by interest
History enthusiasts can prioritise the six exhibition areas and the Martyrs’ Achievements Hall. Architecture and photography enthusiasts can spend longer with the main hall, Victory Tower, sculpture groups, and reflections on the water. Families can begin outdoors and then choose galleries or interactive experiences. The Anhui Museum of Celebrities is next to the hall and can be visited in the same half-day, but the two venues have their own opening and admission arrangements.

Enter through the South Gate, see the General Front Committee sculpture group and Victory Tower, then enter the main hall’s key second-floor galleries. When time is short, keep the outdoor memorial features and the main hall’s key displays rather than trying to complete every area.

You can then choose the 270° panoramic painting gallery or 4D cinema if they are open that day; these experiences require separate tickets. Leave through the North Gate or return to the South Gate by the original route.
Gallery pace and return journey
The main hall has many panels and objects, so a full reading visit needs enough indoor time. On weekends, public holidays, or days with many school groups, seeing the outdoor memorial features first and entering the main hall afterwards is usually more relaxed. Food choices around the hall are limited; if you continue to the Anhui Museum of Celebrities or Anhui Art Museum, allow time for walking and crossing roads, then consider eating in the city after leaving the Binhu area.

Metro and bus
Take Metro Line 5 to Dujiang Memorial Hall Station (渡江纪念馆站), leave through Exit 3, and walk about 5 minutes to the hall. You can also take buses 526 or 42 to the “Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign Memorial Hall” stop. For a first visit, look for the South Gate; the main hall, outdoor sculpture groups, and main parking area are easiest to reach from this side.
Driving and parking
Navigate to the Memorial Hall of the Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign. Parking is currently listed as free. Visitor numbers can increase on weekends and public holidays, bringing queues for parking and entry; if you are also visiting a nearby venue, the metro usually saves time and avoids the extra time spent looking for a space and waiting to park.

Admission is currently free and no reservation is required: you can scan the code on site or go straight through security. Opening days, closure days, and temporary entry arrangements may change, so check the latest visitor information before setting out and the entrance notices when you arrive. If you want a full visit, leave enough indoor time before last admission at 16:30.
Cinema, photography, and visitor numbers
The 270° panoramic painting gallery and 4D cinema require separate tickets, and their opening, prices, and show times follow the arrangements on the day. Follow the signs for photography in the indoor galleries and around the building. On holidays, school groups may make the main hall busier than the outdoor areas. Give the memorial features and main galleries priority, then decide whether there is time for the cinema.
Food and nearby venues
There is a simple food counter inside the hall, with basic items such as pork-rib noodles; food choices around the site are limited, so bring drinking water and simple snacks. The Anhui Museum of Celebrities is next door, and the Anhui Art Museum is nearby. Each venue has its own opening and admission arrangements, so check the day’s information for both before continuing; if you eat in central Hefei afterwards, allow time for the return journey.
