Location and district scope
Yucun Scenic Area is in Moganshan Town, Deqing County, Huzhou. It is an open village and neighbourhood at the foot of Moganshan, with Yucun Square, the old station, plane-tree roads and cultural spaces. Yucun in Anji follows a different road and visitor system, while the Moganshan summit has its own shuttle transfers.
The public district suits about 2–4 hours. Allow half a day if you want a slower street walk, the old station and a cultural space. Free access to the streets does not mean that all shops, cafés, exhibition venues and activities share one schedule.
Opening and transport
The public roads can usually be walked throughout the day, while shops, bookshops, cafés and exhibition venues follow their own hours. The village entrance may be congested on holidays, and parking areas and pedestrian entrances may change, so use a clearly marked public parking area.
Yucun is one of the foothill starting points for a Moganshan summit visit. It works well before going up or after coming down. To reach Sword Pond, Wuling Village, Xuguang Terrace or Baiyun Mountain Pavilion, you still need to arrange the ticket, transfer and last vehicle separately.

Square, old station and plane-tree roads
Yucun suits visitors who enjoy modern-era buildings, old-street walks, public squares and easy urban wandering. The clock tower, square, old station, historic buildings and plane-tree roads form the main content, with changes in street scale and building use to observe as you walk.
Residents, businesses and normal traffic still share the district. Give way to pedestrians and vehicles when feeding pigeons, photographing buildings or taking a break, and do not leave equipment in front of shops or in the middle of a road.
Cultural spaces and foothill life
Former factories, a silkworm-breeding site, bookshops, art spaces and market shops may be spread across different streets, with separate hours and content. If you want to go indoors, choose from the spaces open that day rather than treating the whole street as one exhibition hall.
Yucun also works as a stop before or after going up Moganshan. Public walking here does not require the summit ticket, but it does not replace admission and transport for Sword Pond, Wuling Village or other mountain attractions.
Who this suits
Visitors interested in creative architecture, families and people who enjoy slow walks, tea and small cultural spaces are a good fit. The physical demand is lower than on the summit paths, but crowds and parking pressure may still rise on holidays.
If your priority is waterfalls, summit views or continuous hiking, Yucun is better used as a starting point or a stop on the return.
Build your day
About 2–3 hours: short district route
Enter from the public parking area, start with the old station and Yucun Square, then follow Huangfu East Road, Huangfu West Road and the plane-tree roads before entering the cultural market or a bookshop if open. This route mainly uses public roads and suits visitors who are not climbing the mountain.
If you plan to go up, confirm the transfer centre, ticket and transfer time before settling into the district. A relaxed foothill walk does not leave the summit attractions safely for the final hour.
Half-day city walk
Start at the old station, continue through the square, plane-tree roads, old department store and cultural spaces, then rest in Yucun Park or a public area beside the stream. The points are spread out but not far apart, and 4–6 hours allows room for a café, exhibition and breaks.
Shops and exhibition venues have their own hours, so confirm what is open before deciding the order. If an indoor space is closed, continue along the public roads and building exteriors instead of rebuilding the whole itinerary.
Connecting with the summit
If you are going up on the same day, take a short morning walk in Yucun and then transfer at Moganshan Tourist Transfer Centre. Alternatively, return to Yucun for a break and food after descending in the afternoon. Summit tickets and transport are separate from Yucun, so schedule the part with a last-vehicle limit first.
Get there
From Deqing Station to Yucun
From Deqing Station, a taxi to Yucun takes about 20–30 minutes. You can also use the Y1 tourist line if it is running that day. For driving, navigate to Yucun's public parking area and do not take the car into the core streets looking for a temporary space.
The village entrance may be congested on weekends and holidays, so arriving early and walking in is easier. Remember where the car is parked and which pedestrian exit you use; names of different Yucun streets can be similar.
Moving inside the district
Yucun is suitable for walking. A bicycle or electric vehicle may be useful for a short transfer if available that day, but rental area, price, vehicle and return point may change. With children, prioritise public walking routes.
To reach the summit, go to the designated transfer centre. After parking, you still need to travel from the parking area to that centre. Once back in Yucun, continue along public streets.
Know before you go
Open streets and shop hours
The open public roads have different hours from shops, cafés, bookshops and art spaces. You can complete an exterior district walk without entering an indoor venue; treat any specific interior visit as a separate stop and confirm it independently.
Weekend markets, shows and night activities may be added or cancelled. A particular shop, performance or night view cannot be guaranteed, so keep the public district as the backup route.
Parking and street safety
Use a clearly marked public parking area and enter on foot. Do not park at residents' doors, on narrow roads, around blind bends or in fire lanes, and do not follow a stranger into an unconfirmed private lot.
The square, plane-tree roads and old station area have pedestrians and vehicles sharing space. Take photographs from the pedestrian area, and keep children away from vehicle lanes.
Before going up the mountain
If you plan to visit the Moganshan summit, confirm the transfer centre, ticket, shuttle and last vehicle in advance. Walking around Yucun does not indicate that the summit attraction or its transport is open.
