Plan at a glance

Open village and visit scope

Yucun is in Tianhuangping Town, Anji County, Huzhou. It is an open village where visitors can walk, cycle and observe shared rural spaces. Stones, the library, post office, field roads, children's areas and parts of the former industrial site are spread out, while public village areas and paid operating sites are managed separately.

The free public areas suit about 2–3 hours. If you want paid exhibitions, an operated experience or a slower cycle ride, allow half a day. The village has no single ticket covering every hall, café, rental service and scenic activity.

Opening and traffic controls

The village's public roads can usually be walked throughout the day, but the library, exhibition halls, commercial spaces and temporary installations have their own hours. Holiday traffic controls or parking changes may occur at the village entrance, so plan to use public parking and enter on foot.

Yucun requires a car or pre-arranged vehicle transfer to Anji's other bamboo, waterfall and mountain attractions. It works as a rural stop in Anji, not as one continuous walking route compressed together with several distant attractions.

Choose your visit

Public village spaces and the “Two Mountains” theme

Yucun suits visitors who enjoy rural walks, local development themes, bamboo scenery and a slower pace. The Two Mountains stone, public green spaces, field roads and Youth Library form a visit centred on shared village areas.

The library, post office and former industrial spaces have different uses and may have different hours. Use the public village roads and open buildings for the main visit; do not enter private homes, guesthouses or closed operating areas.

Fields, former mine and seasonal scenery

Wheat fields, lotus ponds, bamboo corridors and the former mine change with the season, weather and management arrangements. Paid cafés, former-mine experiences, camping and other operated sites need separate confirmation of tickets, open areas and safety requirements.

Visitors who enjoy photographs and slow walks can combine the fields with the library and post office. Families should prioritise shade, rest and children's areas, shortening the outdoor route in the hot afternoon.

Who this suits

Yucun suits families, visitors interested in rural architecture and nature walks, and people looking for a half-day break in Anji. The village is about open space and a slow pace; visitors seeking continuous thrills or a dense list of attractions should keep the route light.

Build your day

About 2–3 hours: public-area walk

Enter from the main parking area or village entrance, see the Two Mountains stone first, then follow public roads to the post office, Youth Library, children's area and field paths. The points can be walked between, but roads, photographs and breaks make the actual distance longer.

If you want to use a shared electric vehicle or sightseeing vehicle, confirm the rental point, price, operating range and return method first. Keep the walking route available so you can still return if vehicles are unavailable or the weather changes.

Half-day route: village and paid sites

Finish the free public areas in the morning, rest in or outside the village around midday, then choose a paid exhibition hall, former industrial space or former mine according to what is open that day. These operating sites have their own tickets and hours, so check each one before entering.

In hot weather, put indoor stops such as the library in the afternoon and field roads in the morning or evening. In rain, thunderstorms or a traffic adjustment at the village entrance, reduce cycling and return along the nearest public route.

Two-day slow visit

Visitors staying in the Anji countryside can spend the first day walking through Yucun's public areas and visit China Great Bamboo Sea, China Bamboo Expo Park or another independent attraction on the second day. Driving time, tickets and parking are separate between attractions, and your accommodation affects the return arrangement.

Do not drive an unfamiliar mountain road or use a temporary parking area simply to form a loop. Confirm the vehicle and departure direction for the next day in advance; this also makes holiday traffic near the village entrance easier to handle.

Get there

Driving and station transfer

For driving, navigate to Yucun's public parking area and enter on foot. The drive is about 1.5–2 hours from Hangzhou and about 2.5 hours from Shanghai as a rough estimate; mountain roads and holiday traffic can change the actual time.

From Anji Station, a taxi to Yucun takes about 30 minutes, while public transport is less convenient. If the return depends on a ride-hailing car or taxi, arrange it in advance rather than looking for uncertain long-distance transport inside the village.

Moving inside the village

The village points are spread out and can be visited on foot, by bicycle or with an available sightseeing vehicle. Rental vehicle type, price, operating area and return point may change, so confirm the rules and check the vehicle and road safety when travelling with children.

Public roads run among private homes, guesthouses and businesses. Stay on public routes and turn back promptly when a section is marked as restricted.

Know before you go

Free areas and paid operators

Yucun's public village areas are free to walk, while Waterfall Coffee, Yucun Origin, exhibition halls, rentals and other operated activities may charge separately. Confirm each activity's ticket and open area before entering; free passage at the village entrance does not cover every indoor or commercial space.

Do not enter private homes, the rear areas of guesthouses, construction sites or closed mine and water areas. Follow barriers and directions set up by staff and return along public roads.

Sun, rain and village roads

There are many outdoor sections. Bring sun protection, water and a light rain layer in the hot afternoon. Dirt roads, wooden paths and waterside areas may be slippery in rain, so slow down when cycling or using a stroller.

Fields, lotus ponds and the former mine change with the season, and photography conditions cannot be guaranteed. Treat the library, public roads and village buildings as stable content so the itinerary remains workable when the scenery changes.

Food and the return

Prices and opening hours for village restaurants, cafés and rest stops may change. For a longer visit, bring water and a simple snack, and prepare backup arrangements for both supplies and your return rather than relying on one shop.

The village entrance may be congested or temporarily controlled on holidays. Finish the main walk during daylight and leave time to exit. When driving away, follow clear roads and do not park on narrow lanes, blind bends or in front of residents' doors.
