Plan at a glance
Location and attraction type
Yinggeqing Theater is inside Zhongyin Cultural Park in Yinggeshan Industrial Park, Daba Town, Puning, Jieyang. It is a ticketed performance complex. The practical entrance is around the main theatre ticket hall, and the visit can include the main Yinggeqing performance, other themed theatres, the park’s walking areas and its food street.
Tickets, seats and performance times
You need to buy a ticket in advance and choose a seat. For Theatre 1, plan around CNY 159–198 for guest seats and around CNY 189–218 for VIP seats. Family tickets and other packages may or may not be available, depending on the ticket plan for the day.
The venue usually operates within a 14:00–22:00 window. Mondays are usually rest days, a performance lasts about 60 minutes, and arriving 30 minutes early is recommended for entry checks. The number and timing of performances can change with the season, so do not plan around a fixed number of shows every night.

Theatre 1: Yinggeqing
Yinggeqing is the main performance and lasts about one hour. It follows the Yingge dance tradition and includes other Chaoshan folk elements such as lion dance and ceremonial flags. The production may use a rotating stage, water effects or immersive visuals, but the exact setup and interaction can vary by performance and should not be treated as fixed for every show.
Other theatres and park content
Theatre 2, “Chaoshan in Everyday Life”, focuses on gongfu tea, red-sail boats and the experience of returning home for tea. Theatre 3, “A Story of Chaoshan”, is built around an immersive temple-fair and folk-custom experience. These are separate programmes from Theatre 1; whether they are included in a ticket and whether they open that day depend on the ticket plan and schedule.
Who it suits
Visitors who mainly want to see Yingge dance and keep the stop short can watch Theatre 1 only. First-time visitors to Chaoshan folk culture, families with children and anyone willing to stay for half a day or longer can add other theatres and the food street if the schedule works. Do not assume that every programme is included in one ticket simply because it is inside the same park.
Build your day
A 1.5-hour quick visit
Arrive in time for entry checks, watch Yinggeqing in Theatre 1, then stay near the theatre entrance after the performance if a photo opportunity with performers is available. This suits visitors who want to make the theatre a single evening performance within a wider Puning itinerary and do not need time for the other theatres.
A half-day or full-day park visit
If the day’s schedule fits, you could watch Theatre 2 in the afternoon, join an interactive Theatre 3-style programme at around 17:00, then see an evening performance in Theatre 1 at around 19:30 before eating at the park’s food street. These times are an example for planning only. Use the actual schedule for the day and leave time for entry checks, transfers between theatres and queues.
Combining it with nearby attractions
Yinggeqing Theater can work as an evening performance within a Puning or western Jieyang itinerary. For a two-day plan, you could visit Mianhu Ancient Town in the morning, transfer to Puning in the afternoon for the performance, then visit De'anli or Huanglong Temple on the second day. These places require transport between them and should not be written as a compact walking route.
Get there
Driving and taxis
Drive to “Puning Yinggeqing Scenic Area”; the Puning West exit of the Chao-Hui Expressway is a convenient approach. From Puning Railway Station, a taxi takes about 30 minutes and costs around CNY 20. From Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport, allow about one hour by taxi.
Parking and entry
The park has a large parking area, so driving is generally easier here than finding a space in the old city. On public holidays, arrive early enough to park, collect or confirm your ticket and reach your seat; do not leave everything until the final few minutes before the show.
Know before you go
Schedule and tickets
Monday rest days, the number of performances each evening, the timing of night shows, and family or combination tickets can all change. Check the specific theatre, seat area and performance time after booking. Do not assume that every theatre is included in one ticket or that water screens and immersive effects will appear in every performance.
Watching and photography
For a closer view of performers’ faces and interaction, choose a nearer seat; for a full-stage composition, the middle of the rear section is usually more suitable. Non-commercial photography is allowed during the performance, but flash and tripods are not. Light-coloured clothing can contrast with the stage’s red and black palette, but it is a photography choice rather than an entry requirement.
After the show and onward travel
Whether performer interaction is available after the show depends on the situation that day. Leave the entrance and walkways clear when taking photos. If you continue to De'anli, do not connect the theatre’s end time directly to the village’s exhibition hours; allow for the transfer and check the village schedule separately.
