How to Visit
1

Visit on an opening day

Liuzhou Museum is free to enter. Regular hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00, with last entry at 16:00.

Tip:It is closed on Mondays, so do not use it as a backup stop at the start of the week.
2

Connect it with Liuhou Park

The museum is in the city center, close to Liuhou Park and Liuhou Shrine. You can visit Liuhou Park first and walk over, or do the museum first and continue to the park.

Tip:The two places make an efficient city-center culture route without much transport time.
3

Focus on the strongest galleries

For a first visit, focus on the paleontology fossils, bronzes, ethnic culture, and fan painting and calligraphy galleries. Allow 2-3 hours if you want a relaxed pace.

Tip:If time is short, prioritize fossils, bronzes, and local history instead of giving every gallery equal time.
4

Handle bags and crowds first

If you have luggage, check the storage area after entering. On holidays and during family-travel periods, the popular galleries and lobby photo spots can be crowded.

Tip:Dealing with storage and the busiest photo areas early makes the rest of the visit calmer.
Highlights
  • This is Liuzhou's best general museum for understanding the city's history, ethnic culture, and local artifacts.
  • The paleontology fossil gallery is good for families because the displays are visual and easy to follow.
  • The bronze and fan painting galleries reward slower viewing and show that Liuzhou is more than just a luosifen city.
  • The lobby and ethnic-style decoration are photogenic, but the permanent exhibitions are what deserve your time.
  • Because it is very close to Liuhou Park, the two make a good 2-4 hour city-center culture route.
Insider Tips

Do not confuse Liuzhou Museum with Liuzhou Industrial Museum. This one focuses more on history and culture; the industrial museum focuses on the city's modern industrial memory.

If time is short, prioritize fossils, bronzes, and local history instead of giving every gallery equal time.

On normal opening days, individual visits are usually straightforward. During holidays, there may be crowd control or reservation arrangements.

Parking nearby is not easy, so taxi, bus, or walking is simpler if you are staying in the city center.
