A commercial outdoor park
Longyan Forest Water Town is in Peixie Village, Xiaochi Town, Xinluo District, Longyan, Fujian. It is a commercially operated outdoor park, not a free natural forest. Entry requires a ticket, and rafting, the water park, high-altitude activities, and the luge must also be checked by ticket type.
The usual entrance is the park's main gate. The site is remote, so driving is the most convenient option. From Longyan Station by high-speed rail, a taxi takes about 30-40 minutes and costs about CNY 40-50.
Ticket levels and reference prices
A basic sightseeing ticket costs about CNY 68-98 and usually includes the main gate, Forest Pasture, and Muguang City. A large package has a reference price of about CNY 298 per person, and a child package has a reference price of about CNY 169. Children over 1 metre may need a ticket.
Package lists often include rafting, the mountain-spring water park, Skyline Luge, Step by Step, Forest Flyover, the high-altitude zipline, archery, and a small train, but the combination and price can change with season or operations. A reference price is not that day's fixed product, and a listed project is not the same as a project that can be used.
Opening hours and project conditions
Usual opening hours are 9:00-18:00, with the latest entry at about 16:00. Rafting usually runs around 14:00-16:00, with exact hours adjusted for season, weather, and water level. The water park and other outdoor activities also depend on temperature, maintenance, and visitor numbers.
A quick visit to several projects takes about 3-4 hours. Covering the high-altitude activities, rafting, and water park takes about 6 hours. For a same-day return, also include the roughly 1-1.5 hours from central Longyan to the park.

Rafting and water projects
Jiuxilu Rafting is about 3 km long with a drop of about 320 metres and forest cover of about 98%. A full run usually takes about 40-50 minutes. The mountain-spring water park includes a lazy river, slides, and other facilities. The water comes from the mountains and feels cold.
Rafting and the water park do not run at all times and are not suitable for every age. Before buying, check that day's height, weight, age, and health requirements and opening times. After getting wet, you will need a change of clothes and warmth.
High-altitude activities, luge, and pasture
Step by Step, Forest Flyover, and the high-altitude zipline are elevated activities with physical restrictions. Skyline Luge runs on a nearly 1-km track around the mountain, with speed controlled by the rider. Forest Pasture suits animal viewing and an easy stop, while Muguang City is mainly known for white buildings and mountain scenery.
Visitors who enjoy thrill activities can separate the high-altitude projects from rafting, but each project has its own safety rules. Families do not need to buy a large package covering everything; first see which projects suit the people in the group.
Who this suits
The park suits visitors willing to try outdoor activities, summer water play, and family outings. The walking distance is not short, and the high-altitude and water projects have clear height, weight, and health thresholds. It is not suited to forcing the whole family into the same program.
Build your day
An approximately 3-4 hour quick route
Go to Forest Pasture first, then Muguang City, and finish with Skyline Luge. This route is mainly lighter activities and suits visitors with limited time or children. Rafting and the water park can wait for another visit.
After entering, first check that day's project opening list. Do not queue directly from an online project order. Walking or an on-site shuttle is needed between the luge, pasture, and Muguang City, and the actual time changes with visitor numbers.
An approximately 6-hour complete route
You can start with Step by Step, Forest Flyover, the high-altitude zipline, and the cliff small train. Depending on what is open, continue with archery and Skyline Luge, then enter Jiuxilu Rafting and the mountain-spring water park, and leave Forest Pasture for the end. Include queues, changing clothes, and transfers between projects in the timing.
With only a basic ticket, do not try to enter package projects. Even with a package, check each project's operating status. Some may be unavailable because of weather, maintenance, or height limits.
A two-day, one-night choice
With two days and one night, use the first day for high-altitude projects and rafting or the water park. On the second day, finish gently at Forest Pasture and Muguang City. Check accommodation, food, and next-day entry separately; do not assume a large package includes an overnight stay.
The site is remote and evening vehicles are scarce. If you stay, confirm accommodation and the return in advance. If you must leave that day, leave enough time after rafting to change clothes and rest, and start before dark.
Get there
Driving
The drive takes about 30-40 minutes from central Longyan and about 2 hours from Xiamen. Navigate to the Longyan Forest Water Town ground car park. Parking is usually free, but spaces may be tight during large events or peak season, so follow the on-site signs.
The final road into the area is narrow with many bends. Drive slowly in rain and at night, and do not park on village access routes or project entrances.
High-speed rail, taxi, and bus
From Longyan Station, a taxi takes about 30-40 minutes and costs about CNY 40-50. You can also take a "Longyan-Dachi" route bus from Jiucai Garden Bus Station and get off near Peixie Village, but services are infrequent and inflexible. This is not a good choice if you need a reliable same-day return.
Whichever way you arrive, do not solve the departure with a last-minute taxi. Unless you drive, arrange and confirm a return driver before setting out.
Know before you go
Cold mountain water and water safety
Rafting and the water park use cold water from the mountain springs. After water activities, dry off and change into dry clothes as soon as possible. Bring a large towel and warm water for children, and add a warm layer in cooler weather. Water projects require non-slip shoes; whether flip-flops or foam sandals are allowed follows the project rules.
Do not leave children unsupervised, and do not cross rafting channels, water-slide fences, or deep-water areas. If someone feels cold, tired, or unwell, stop the activity immediately and move to a safe area.
Project conditions and lockers
Rafting, water slides, the high-altitude zipline, and the luge have height, weight, age, health, and opening-time limits. Read the project notice before queueing and do not decide for another person whether they can take part.
Confirm the deposit, charge, and refund method for lockers before use. Do not assume the deposit is refunded automatically when you leave, and do not leave valuables unattended on a bank or in a changing area.
Return and evening risks
The park is remote, and taxis are hard to find in the quiet season or at night. Drivers should be careful on the mountain road after dark. Visitors without a car must arrange the return time with a driver in advance and allow time after rafting for changing, returning equipment, and walking.
Weather changes directly affect rafting and high-altitude projects. In thunderstorms, strong wind, low temperatures, or unusual water levels, accept that a project may be suspended. Do not keep queueing simply to use the rest of a package.
